First things first. I am not able to get ahold of their phone number . I called multiple times and two days In a row . no answer . I drive 45 mins to Chico and take my dog in because he has got a foxtail in his nose . They ask if I have an appointment . I tell them no I couldn’t get Ahold of you . They say that they can see my dog for an emergency consultation but it would be 350+ dollars upfront . I ask if I make an appointment if it would be cheaper. Yes it would be closer to 200$. I ask if I could make an appointment and I’m looked at like I’ve asked for a weeks of their pay . They tell me that I have to call and make an appointment . So I reiterate to them that I have been trying to call their number and it doesn’t seem to work. And they ask if I have another number I can call from .. I do not . So I ask if they have any payment plan . The answer is no but they have a care credit card thing I can apply for . So I got the website and left and have applied for the care credit . I understand this is a business and it’s going to cost some money to get my dog looked at . But it just seemed like the people there didn’t care about my dog or the situation we’re in. Very nice people but just didn’t seem like they gave a shit about my dog

Dr. Wrinkle is the best! She works with animals with autoimmune disorders and different kinds of cancer. It can be pricey but if you sign up for their VCA CARE Club, it's a low monthly payment. It includes free annual checkups, discounts on other services and more. It has saved me so far over $1500! They also have been wonderful when I had to have my dogs put down. Very caring 🩷🐕🐾

The staff was great and the facility was clean. But I only go to VCA if I absolutely need to. The prices are astronomical compared to our regular vet. Having to pay almost $200 just for my dog to even be seen is absolutely ridiculous. And then it was another $471 to drain an abcess and express her, and they couldn’t even express one side. I actually considered driving to Auburn to see a cheaper vet, which is absolutely ridiculous. I should not have had to figure out if the gas to have gone there would be cheaper than VCA. I decided against it, but after getting my quote I really wish I had. VCA is the vet I go to if there are literally no other options. And that’s exactly why VCA charges as much as they do for emergency and urgent care, because they know that desperate people don’t have the option to decline the services that their animals need.

I just took my senior Chihuahua mix in on April 29th for her first emergency vet visit ever, not bad for 14 years! For wait times, I would recommend calling as soon as the problem arises. Give them an estimated ETA and they will do their absolute best to get you in as soon as possible. The intake price for emergency services is always daunting, and you can't choose when emergencies happen, but Valley Oak was incredibly understanding. I'm lucky we had to go when we did, as emergency consultations are $100-$200 more when the emergency vet is not there, and they showed up just in time! For total price I would say it's incredibly reasonable, my Marley is healthy though and just finally experiencing the joys of old age (arthritis), so I know prices can get a lot higher. I have no income and am barely surviving off EBT and college financial aid; Though I did have to use half this months rent, I would pay my life savings over and over again to just know my old puppy is okay.

I rushed my dog to the emergency vet at 11pm Sunday night. He wasn't breathing right and they treated us both so incredibly well. They rushed him to the back, communicated with me well and often. Dr. Wilson was very compassionate and realistic with me about the situation. I truly didn't realize how bad it was and unfortunately he didn't make it. They did everything they could for him in his last hours and for that I am truly grateful. I am devastated, but I do find solace in knowing that he was treated well and that they really did everything they could for him.
