  Yes, I saw Dr. Marcia and I went in with my dog having low white blood cell count which I took him to an urgent care the day before he was still having problems so I brought him in. They told me to stay was gonna be anywhere between 54 and 6400 for three days. I told him maybe we could go for one day then I was quoted a price of 5400 which didn’t make sense because that’s not a third of the price and I kept asking about prices and treatment options and the lady that was talking for the doctor kept running back-and-forth asking the doctor about prices to me. It seems like they were just reaching to see how much I would pay the doctor Had no compassion and then she finally came in and was giving me an attitude and asking me how much I can pay. I told her 10,000 but that’s not the point here. It seems like every offer you’re giving me doesn’t make sense then I asked for how much for a few hours she said $60 for three hours if you multiply that by eight you get a whole day they quoted me $2700 for a whole day and for $60 for three hours meant it would’ve Been $480. I was asking the assistant that kept coming in and translating for the doctor. Why does this make sense? I was just working final note. I just had blood work done and x-rays done and then the doctor comes into the final say and says we didn’t do this procedure and I asked her again what it was cause I’m at a doctor and I don’t know what the procedure is called and what is actually done with it and Dr. Garcia says I already told you, sir with a stern look on her face and seem to be upset that I’m asking questions I would not recommend this place they extortionists they just try to see how much money they can get out of you which is very unprofessional she was not compassionate at all for my situation and my dog. Please stay away from here at all costs. It’s not worth it and you’ll leave unhappy beware.

  We have been there for 2 dog emergencies, 2 regular checkups, and end of life care. Both dogs and cats. Staff was wonderful and caring for all issues of our crazy big family of pets and children. Cost is always difficult issue, but it's worth paying for truly compassionate and thoughtful treatment. Our family loves VCA!

  Our naughty little dachshund snatched a peach pit right out of my daughter's hand and swallowed it instantly. We were expecting a huge ordeal out of this. We brought her to the clinic and they brought her back right away, made her barf it up and we were on our way! It was quick, painless, and our Biscuit was in loving hands. She wasn't even traumatized by the whole experience. She thought it was fun!! If you have any pet emergencies, this place is well worth it, even if out of your way! They were courteous, happy to be there and every human we came in contact with was delightful!! Truly. Thank you all for your expert care and love in getting our girl fixed. ❤️

  We called because our cat had what appeared to be a ruptured anal gland, and Michelle, who answered the phone, was absolutely wonderful. She was so kind, patient, and reassuring. She took the time to have us send pictures, showed them to the doctor, and explained what was happening in a way that helped ease our worries. She also gave us helpful instructions on how to keep him comfortable and care for him tonight until he could be seen in the morning. Her compassion and willingness to take the time to help us meant so much, especially when we were worried about our cat. We are very grateful for her kindness and reassurance!

  RITA RANCH PET OWNERS — PLEASE READ If your pet ever needs emergency medical attention, especially for something involving serious bleeding, please think twice before going to Civano Animal Hospital. Our poor baby Louis got his nail caught and would not stop bleeding. In the middle of the night, my sister rushed him to Civano for emergency care. She waited FOUR HOURS in a room before a doctor finally saw him. After waiting all that time, Louis was essentially wrapped up and given pain medication — but the bleeding had not actually been stopped. My sister didn’t realize this until she was already walking out with Louis and noticed he was still bleeding. She immediately went back and told the doctor, Dr. Karlie Kelly, what was happening. The response? They could take care of it — but it would cost another $900–$2,000. We had already paid around $700 for the visit, wrapping, and medication. I honestly cannot put into words how angry and heartbroken we were. 💔 Imagine trusting an emergency animal hospital with your beloved pet in the middle of the night, waiting FOUR HOURS for help, paying hundreds of dollars, and then realizing your pet is still bleeding when you’re leaving. Thankfully, my sister did not give up. She found another clinic that actually stopped Louis’s bleeding and, according to my sister, did not charge her for the service. Louis could have been in serious danger if she hadn’t noticed and found someone else to help him. Our pets are family. When we take them to an emergency clinic, we’re putting their lives in someone else’s hands because we trust that they’re going to help them when they need it most. They deserve compassion, urgency, and proper care — not to be sent home still bleeding. I’m sharing this because I would never want another pet owner in the Rita Ranch area to experience the fear and helplessness my sister experienced with Louis. Please do your research and know where you’re taking your pets in an emergency. This experience involved “Dr.”Karlie Kelly at Civano Animal Hospital.
