  I’ve come here a few times for emergency care for my dogs over the past year and the service has really dropped off. There is a lack of continuity in the office which leads to poor communication and overall care. We waited for 2 hours last night before we could be seen and then we were told that they can’t do anything for the particular condition our dog was dealing with. Writing this the following day, my dog has a large mass on his hind leg that is bleeding and I can’t get a call back with advice on how to clean and bandage the mass. We went here because it’s close, but I will gladly drive further to avoid this clinic.

  I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with VCA over the past year regarding my dog Miles’ seizure medication. I was repeatedly charged significantly inflated prices for a medication that I have now discovered I can get through Costco for a fraction of what VCA was charging me. I explained to VCA that I’m a master’s student and was struggling financially, yet I continued paying these prices because I trusted them with my dog’s care and medication. What has been especially frustrating is how difficult VCA made it when I finally asked them to send the prescription to Costco. They were very hesitant to do so, and I had to repeatedly follow up just to get the prescription transferred. This was for a medication my dog needs consistently to manage his seizures. I was even told that VCA “doesn’t get the donations that Costco gets,” as though that justified the enormous price difference. I understand that veterinary hospitals have overhead and need to make money, but there is a difference between reasonable pricing and charging a struggling client significantly more than necessary for an ongoing prescription. According to VCA’s own website, pet owners may purchase prescriptions and refills from the pharmacy of their choice. (Vca) I feel like I should have been given the option to use a more affordable pharmacy much sooner, especially after explaining my financial situation. I’m extremely disappointed that it took me finding Costco on my own to realize just how much I had been overpaying. As someone who has trusted VCA with Miles’ care for years, this experience has seriously damaged my trust. Pet owners deserve transparency about medication costs and should not have to fight to obtain a prescription elsewhere when a significantly more affordable option exists.

  We had to say goodbye to our sweet cat Jinx this evening. Dr. Sullivan and the whole staff were so patient and kind, which really helped my teen daughters and myself through this heartbreaking situation. I did research prior, and the fees were fair. We miss her terribly but are grateful to have been holding her when she passed. Thank you for your kindness.
