If you have, I don’t know, a gerbil…this may be the vet for you. But they are afraid of dogs. My six month old shepherd puppy was fine in the waiting room until another dog entered, at which point she began barking. They then quickly brought us to the exam room. After a short time the vet tech arrived, totally ignored the puppy, and began asking questions. The dog quietly sat at my feet for this. The tech left, then a little later came in the door from the waiting room side (where the other dog had been) to get my dog’s weight. When she unexpectedly opened this door, my dog barked, then stopped and was easily directed to be weighed. We returned to the room and my dog lay at my feet when the tech came and asked if we could muzzle her because “she was reactive towards me.” I pointed to my quiet, resting dog and asked,” This is reactive?!” She said the dog had barked earlier and we needed to be safe. When the vet arrived with a student, she did not immediately muzzle my dog. After asking questions she said they would see if she was willing to accept treats from them. They were out of treats, but I had come prepared with them. My dog happily approached and accepted them, so she began the physical exam. When she was feeling her belly, my dog’s eyes became wide; the doctor noted this with concern, but at no time made effort to speak calmly, or even at all, to the dog. Vet tech came in later to give us the paperwork; she stood across the room; on the way out she told my quiet dog with a wagging tail to, “be nice; I have not done anything to you.” Once you are so afraid of dogs you can’t even speak to them, it’s time to hang up your hat.

Im so glad I found Dr. Ansems. It was by pure luck I got her as a vet; used the free check up for a kitten I adopted at the shelter. Dr. Ansems and all her techs, plus reception, have always taken great care of me and Cooper. Shes gone very much out her way to minimize costs for me and ensure Cooper gets treatments he needs. I cannot understate how much I appreciate her and her team. Doc ansems is extremely caring and it shows through her practice.

Absolutely horrendous behavior from the receptionist, Mary. Called to ask about getting medications prescribed for my dog and instead of being remotely helpful, she very rudely questioned whether or not I have ever visited a VCA before. She then said she would "help me by looking up the date that I visited" only to proceed to hang up on me. Then, when I called back, I heard her pick up the phone and immediately hang up again. Called back a third time to ask to speak to anyone in charge and she refused to do so. She kept asking if there was any way she could help me, after hanging up on me twice. So, I said "You already hung up on me, so unless you can put me through to someone that can actually help.. I want to talk to someone in charge." to which she denied ever hanging up on me and started coming up with excuses. So, naturally, I hung up on her and began writing my review. Unbelievably horrible customer service. Get a new job if you hate yours that much.
