Do NOT go to this location if you are having issues with your phone or account. You will likely waste your time.
I came to the Cricket store on 7th Avenue and Southern because I was locked out of my account and needed to reset my PIN. Cricket customer service specifically instructed me to go into a Cricket store for assistance.
When I arrived, I spoke with an employee named Maria (or “Maria with an E,” as she identified herself). I explained the situation, and instead of helping me, she told me I needed to call customer service. I called the number while I was still in the store, and the automated system told me that I needed to visit a Cricket store—which is exactly where I already was.
I went back to the counter and explained that the phone system was directing me to the store. Her response was essentially that there was nothing they could do and that I needed to call customer service. I was sent in circles between the store and the phone line with absolutely no resolution.
What made this experience even more frustrating was that Maria told me it would probably take an hour just to get through to someone and continued to insist that calling was the only way to get my PIN reset. There was no attempt to troubleshoot the issue, find another solution, or even explain why the store supposedly couldn’t assist me.
Eventually, I left and went to the Cricket store on 35th Avenue and Southern. The difference was NIGHT AND DAY. The ladies at that location were extremely helpful. They were able to get my phone unlocked, reset my PIN, and take care of my payment—the exact issues I was told the other store couldn’t help me with.
So clearly, help WAS available. I just wasn’t getting it at the 7th Avenue and Southern location.
If you’re having account or phone issues, save yourself the frustration and go to the Cricket store on 35th Avenue and Southern instead. I wasted my time at the 7th Avenue location only to drive to another Cricket store and have the problem handled without all the runaround.
Management should seriously address the customer service and training at this location, particularly my interaction with Maria. Customers shouldn’t be turned away and told “there’s nothing we can do” when another location is perfectly capable of resolving the exact same issue.
