The only reson this gets 2 instead of 1 star is because Dr. Guthrie has been amazing with my fur babies.
Cox, however, is heartless and needs to choose a new profession. One that does not deal with the sensitive nature of pet parents and their dying animals and maybe makes better income since he only seems to care about charging consult fees just to give a price estimate. You didnt need to read the chart for a price quote.
The emergency vet gave me fluids that they tapped from my dog and let me know it may be more cost effective to have my dogs primary vet run the tests for answers; boy were they wrong! I was told VCA would have to charge a consult fee in order to send the tests. Why consult just to send vials I already had? Not sure... "he has to read the chart" just to send the vials out. I didnt need a reiteration of what the E-vet already told me. I just want the samples tested. However, not once did I argue. All I asked for a price estimate and was told the same thing. "He wants to charge a consult fee because he has to read the chart" Ok, but I need a price. I was told he would come talk to me. Then I was told to check in, I asked "is he trying to charge me?" yes...yes he was. FOR A PRICE ESTIMATE. Never in my life have I had to pay for a price estimate. I finally got upset and told them how utterly heartless it was that they cant just give me a breakdown of what it would cost to try to get answers about my dying baby. Oh, what do you know, they finally brought an estimate. I wouldnt give Cox a dime and I dont want to talk to him anyway. They wanted over 1k all said and done fyi. Just to get some samples tested.
I understand he was busy, but my dying dog isnt less important.
Go ahead and respond to this with your excuses and make yourselves look even worse.

We had to bring our service dog in. Sadly due to her rapidly declining health, we were there to put her down.
The staff there was amazing. From the person I spoke to when I called this morning all the way up to Dr Johnson. The comparison shown to us during our time there, the true love for animals shown by the staff.
Even though we went there knowing we were losing a loving family member who is extremely important to us, they made it easier.
Thank you so much for the compassion you showed my daughter and I.

I came from out of town and my dog got really sick to his stomach. When we called this practice in the morning, we were told the next available appt wasn’t until 11am. However we were then encouraged to bring him in as a walk in to be seen quicker. Due to the nature of his illness, we needed to be seen as soon as possible so we brought him in. They took us to a room to wait where we waited for about half an hour with our frightened shaking dog before a tech came in and told us they were understaffed and couldn’t say when a doctor would be available to see us. We were then instructed to go to an animal hospital instead which we had been trying to avoid because of the astronomical costs. This place doesn’t need to be calling themselves a walk-in clinic when they will literally turn pets away in need. My husband and I were furious that they misled us and wasted our time. We did inevitably end up having to take our dog to an ER later that afternoon but I think the outcome could’ve been much different if they had actually seen us like they said they would. Would NOT recommend this clinic to anyone.

Doctor Curtis Cox is a fantastic veterinarian. He immediately told us what needed to be done and was upfront, honest and showed concern, kindness during a time where we weren't sure Our 12yr old pug mix Shooter would pull through. Shooter had to spend his Days in an oxygen chamber during his stay and transported to the VCA in League City at night in this Buster portable oxygen chamber. Highly recommend using them one hundred percent.
