Yesterday, I CALLED Best Buy to inquire about the cost of resetting a laptop to factory settings Was told $40. Today I went to the Sugarland, Tx Best Buy store and spoke to the Geek squad. I was told $150 for the same request, but was told that if I joined the Geek Membership, at a cost of $180, they could take care of my damaged computer plus any other computer I bought. I told them about the phone call; they said I did not talk to a person at their store, that it could be a BB call center. I left the store, but later decided to call BB. I spoke to a young man who told me that they are BB virtual assistant (but a live person). I was told $40 for the same request and then they made me an Appt with another BB a few miles away. I was charged $40 for the same request and left satisfied.
This left a bittersweet taste, as it appeared like an unethical move to to try to sell me services I did not request. Who knows, they may get a commission for selling memberships, but it definitely smells sour and unethical.

I had a disappointing experience at Best Buy with an employee named Victoria. She was asked if she could assist us and she told us she couldn’t help because she was on strike. She then walked away without attempting to find another employee to assist us or directing us to someone who could help.
I understand personal or work-related situations can be complicated, but as customers, we were left without support and unsure of what to do next. A simple handoff to another associate or a quick explanation of where we could get help would have made a big difference. Unfortunately, that did not happen, and it negatively impacted our experience.

I drove 45 minutes to this location as I had viewed online that the sony camera I wanted was in stock. It was an open box camera and online it said I was only able to do in store pick up. I decided to just drive to this sugarland location and go inside to the store and hope no one had bought it as it showed in stock earlier today and I doubted someone would buy it this same day.
I walk inside Best Buy thinking this would be quick as I am six months pregnant and didn’t want to be standing for long. I immediately go to the cameras and ask for assistance. The associate that was helping me was extremely disrespectful and unsure on how to help me look for the camera I wanted, granted I don’t think he worked in the camera section but he was willing to help. What threw me off was when I asked where the restroom was and he responded by pointing to the restroom and saying “it’s where the big ass sign is”. I brushed off his comment. He then starts looking for the camera. As he’s doing so camera boxing are dropping on the floor. He finds me the camera I wanted but is was brand new and I was looking for the open box camera as they are cheaper and I know they are in stock. He was unsure on what I was talking about so he asked me to ask a new associate. I saw three associates in total and they all told me to see someone else.
It was until I was told to ask a manager is when I started to lose my patience. I am unsure of the manager’s name but he was a short, Hispanic, heavier set male, with glasses. As soon as me and my boyfriend walked up he automatically seemed annoyed and he asked who exactly had sent us over to him. I explain to the manager my situation and he walks me back over to the cameras to look for the one I came here for. He couldn’t find it in the cameras so he looks in the back. After a little while, he finds me the open box camera we were looking for. He then explains to be that the camera cannot be sold. This caught me off guard because I had the camera in my cart online and ready to be purchased for in store pickup the same day. The manager repeated that it cannot be sold at the moment and that it had to be inspected but it might be able to be sold in 30 minutes. I didn’t fully understand the situation as the manager didn’t seem to even want to explain it. The store was closing in about an hour and my boyfriend and I didn’t want to walk around the store for that long. My boyfriend asked if the manager can take down his number and text him when it was ready as we were confused on how we would know when it would be ready. The manager took his number and walked off, putting the camera in the back. I walked around the store for a few minutes and thought for sure someone would be working on the camera, but no for an hour I just saw the camera sitting on the shelf without anyone working on it. I began to get pissed off so my boyfriend asked again about the camera about 20 minutes later. My boyfriend stated that the sales cashier was very helpful but the manger who was sitting about 20 feet from the register was smirking back at him. it was until the manager came up to the register is when issues started. Again they weren’t able to sell the camera. My boyfriend came back to the car and we waiting for another 20 minutes. We had came back inside right before closing and as soon as walked in we could hear the manager upfront making comments about us to other employees. Saying “here they are again” in an ignorant tone. We walked around for a few and then went back to the register. The manager was no where to be found but the kind female cashier was able to sell us the camera with no issues.
We spent about two hours at this best buy location I completely understand if there was seriously something wrong with the system but either way this whole situation could have been handled way differently. My boyfriend and I, as costumers, should have been treated with respect, and not mocked. I will not be returning to this location anytime soon.

If you wanna be waited on and buy a computer, this store is not the place to stop. I waited for 30 minutes after asking the sales people if they would request the next available person to help me with no response then I asked to speak to the manager And they said I would have to find her so I did her name is Adriana. She says I cannot move from my location. I am very sorry we just don’t have enough help. When I was waited on. It was by a very nice and knowledgeable person named Ram. I was able to purchase my laptop and then I went to the geek squad so they could set it up. Again, a very nice person named Saunders so if you’re in a hurry, don’t stop here if you want good management, don’t look for Adriana.
