  I brought my dog in to vca champions because she got some rawhides out of my purse and ended up choking on one of them I watched her keep gagging trying to throw it up so I rushed to help . I noticed 2 weeks later that she started wheezing and her breathing was different. So quick like a bunny I brought her here to VCA Champions. I explained what happen and told them that I worked in an animal hospital for 3 years and was sure that my Dog Dutches had gotten fluid in her lungs. Dutches loves people so she gets a little excited when she meets new ones so her breathing eregular wasn't as obvious to them as it was to me. The vet told me she listened to her lungs in which if you count petting and giving treats to my pet listening to her lungs so be it. She said the reason she was breathing eregular was her stomach even though I insisted ot was fluid in her lungs. They sent me home with a bunch of pills for her stomach. I had to bring her back again the next day they did an ultra sound and found nothing told me to get gas meds from Walmart. They still said it was her stomach. Even though I still insisted it was her lungs.A Month later I took her to North West Animal hospital by my house they were only $375 for the visit and 2 X-ray views of her stomach because against what ( my gut feeling and what knowledge I learned working with animals)I was told by VCA I was wrong. When I told them I was sure it was the lung but VCA said it was her stomach they said they would do X-rays of her stomach to see if the raw hides were there mm They did the X-rays and nothing agian. This problem has been getting worse and because they told me it was Dutches stomach I have spent a fortune on dog food for animals with digestive problems . I'm on SSI for a learning disability but the one thing I'm very good at it animals. This is a problem dealing with Vets. We are parents and our animals are our children . If we say it's a breathing problem why don't you listen. This whole 4 months I knew in my heart I was right. But I thought you knew what you were doing ,you've been to college spent years working we ith animals and you can't listen to lungs and hear what I can hear with out the equipment you have. Now my dog is so sick she can barley breath because I listened to you and the other vets listened to you. It's the middle of the month and I don't get paid till the first... You made me to oubt my own self and It was her lungs just like I told you. You had me waist $100's of dollars on vet visits unnessasary meds because you were playing with my dog instead of trying to do like I asked repeatedly. Listen to her lungs... That's all you had to do . I heated it plain as day. They have no idea of what they are doing. They play with your pet and didn't think it was important or even thought that maybe with my experience working with animals might have been prudonent when they just decided not to listen , I was in educated and put my dogs life at risk. I honestly believed Them. Turns out I was right the whole time it's water in her lungs... don't bring your animal here. They don't listen to the owners much less know what they are doing . I believe in preventative care. Catching things the first time you notice something off. They aren't grooming, they are walking different, breathing or heart rate off out of character. These are simple mind blowing signs that your animal is sick. Or the first signs that there's something going on. Our pets can't talk to us but if you really pay attention they are talking to us in many ways..

  We had a wonderful first visit at VCA Champions Northwest Animal Hospital with our recently adopted 11-year-old yorkiepoo, Cinco. Jenna Krizak, DVM and the entire team were incredibly welcoming and kind. Services and fees were clearly explained, and we left feeling confident this is the right veterinary home for our newly adopted yorkiepoo 😇

  After a recommendation from my mom to take my senior dog to Dr. Blessinger, I called to schedule a new well check and they won't let dog parents in to the new patient appointment. I can go to the pediatrician for my daughter's appointment, why not my dog's? Curbside appointments are for groceries, not living animals.
