Ho ho holy cow — this Apple Store saved Santa’s night.
I flew into San Antonio on very short notice to work as Santa at North Star Mall. Found out Thursday night at 8 p.m., was on a plane by 6 a.m. Friday. When Santa rushes, Santa forgets things.
By Friday night, after a 10½-hour day in the big red suit, I realized I was missing a USB-C to USB-C cable — something I needed to transfer photos and video from my Camp Snap cameras to my iPad for editing. My set closed at 9 p.m. The mall closed at 9 p.m. And this tired Santa was in street clothes, in an unfamiliar city, just wanting to go back to his hotel.
I was about to head for Walmart when I spotted a security guard outside the closed Apple Store. I asked if there was any chance I could buy a cable. He wasn’t sure… but an Apple associate overheard us.
Now listen — this store was closed. This associate did not have to help me. But after I explained I was the mall Santa and running on fumes, he stepped in anyway and took care of me.
That small act of kindness meant the world in that moment. When you’re far from home and exhausted, being treated like a human instead of a transaction matters.
Five stars to the Apple Store at North Star Mall — and extra Christmas magic to the associate who helped a very tired Santa get back to his hotel with a smile.

I scheduled an appointment at the store for a battery change. I specifically told them I was coming in for a battery change, confirming my iPhone model number. They then sent me 2-3 texts confirming my appointment time and date.
After I arrived, they spent 15-20 minutes trying to sell me a new phone. When I finally said I just wanted my battery changed, per my appointment, they told me they did not have that battery in stock, and I needed to come back in 6-7 business days.
Wasted my time, forcing me to sit through their sales pitch. They never once texted me to reschedule my original appointment for a date when they had the battery available.
When I left without rescheduling, they told me any other store or shop would ruin my phone. (I guess that they never heard of the “Apple authorized” repair shops).
If you are looking for poor service, and lots of misinformation, come to the Apple Store at the North Star mall.

I am submitting this on behalf of our family's dear, close friends. We attended the appointment with them.
My husband and I had an outstanding experience at the Apple Store at North Star Mall on December 2, thanks to Enrique. As senior citizens, technology can be overwhelming, but Enrique was incredibly patient, kind, and respectful. He clearly explained everything, answered all our questions, and resolved several critical account issues that had been limiting our ability to use our phones. What could have been stressful became completely manageable because of his expertise and calm approach. This was truly one of the best customer service experiences we’ve ever had. Enrique is a credit to Apple, and we are very grateful for his help.
