It's been 3 days since the sudden loss of my lil' guy who I brought in because he was having labored breathing. To skip the details, there was no more to be done for him. I will never forget how kind and patient the staff here was. They gave me a private room to be with my boy while I tried to get in touch with my kids so they could have a chance to say goodbye. Then they gave me as much time as I wanted after he was gone so that I could say goodbye and slowly pull myself together. In the worst case scenario, this was the absolute best place to have gone.

This was my second time visiting Oso Creek with a dog due to a serious injury/situation and I cannot sing their praises enough. The first time unfortunately I was not able to bring my dog home with me so I was anxious from the start. The moment I walked in terrified the staff was calm, clear and upfront about what was happening with my dog & what would be happening. There was a very long wait time, and it seems like most of that is from people who could be at a regular vet office as opposed to an emergency facility. During the wait Sadie continued to check on the waiting room asking if we needed blankets or if anyone’s pets had new or worsening symptoms. Caitlyn was my dogs nurse and she was incredibly kind during each conversation and truly seemed to care for my boy. She was clear and thorough when discussing treatment options and pricing and never made me feel judged or like a poor owner for elected or non elected treatments. I did not meet with Dr. Haller but I believe she was the doctor who did the laceration surgery on my dog and he is on his way to recovery. Anytime your pet needs (keyword is NEEDS) to be seen at an emergency facility it is terribly scary and stressful, but never once have I felt uninformed or unimportant at Oso Creek. They are a blessing when things go bad & I appreciate them so very much.

I was told on my post op paperwork from Star Animal Clinic to call this vet after 6pm for any questions or concerns I had after getting my dog spayed earlier today. I did just call and the woman who answered, Angel, repeatedly told me she couldn't give any medical advice over the phone without examining my dog. I can completely understand that part, but I was confused because the question I had was very general/based on your experience type of thing. I simply wanted to know if it was normal that she had thrown up 5x since 4pm(now 11pm) and was refusing water. Her tone as so abrasive and very unsympathetic. I'm a single mom and couldn't get out there even if I wanted to and she was very brash in telling me that's my only option. It's just very disappointing and it just plain looks bad. The people answering your calls and running your front desk can really make or beak a place.

Took my cat to here at 1 AM. I’m trying to check in, telling the front desk my issue and she tells me “hold on” and walks away. She finally comes back and asked me again what happened and as I’m in the middle of talking she answers her phone! When she gets off she hands me a clipboard and says “fill this out it’ll be a 5 hour wait” and basically blows me off. I understand how it is when you’re understaffed and there’s a lot going on but she could’ve at least acknowledged me and got me checked in. I didn’t even get to finish talking or asking my question! It would’ve taken less than a minute. Handle one person at a time please.

After a lovely beach trip to Port A, we realized it was time to let our sweet Bella go. Her enthusiasm for the beach she once loved was no longer. Our 16 year old Dorkie (Dachshund/Yorkie) had been suffering with Cushioning disease along with other ailments of a life well lived. Our vet technician at the VCA guided us through the process and even shared a recent personal experience. He gave us comfort and time when we needed it most. Although we will never forget our sweet tiny girl, we can’t thank this hospital enough for guiding us through this process. We apologize to the vet technician for not remembering his name, we were very distraught. Hopefully, he will know who we are. ❤️
