- CCcrisppyy_baconMay 8, 20211.0Brought my laptop in because the battery was drawing too much power so it short circuited itself to prevent damage (I now know this is common and can often be fixed by holding the power button for 10 seconds or pushing the battery reset pin hole on the back). However, I was told there was no way it was my battery and that my motherboard was damaged. They immediately jumped to saying my computer needed to be completely wiped, and that it would take 8 weeks. The geek squad members are not knowledgeable, and do not know how to run simple diagnosis tests to find a potential cause. They simply jump to the worst case scenario out of a lack of understanding of electronics. Do not go here. Agent Kyle is terribly uneducated for this job. Sad since he’s an Aggie grad.
