Staff is not friendly, tried calling for a question and was sent to a call center, that is the most ridiculous thing a business could do is have a local number and it gets forwarded out to a call center stupid design. Website is trash and the “1 hour pickup” is a compete scam and false advertising. The “verification team” held the order for 5 days because they think it was a fraudulent order because I have a personal account and then a business account, when talking to the person at the call center about why the order was taking so long they were extremely rude and I will NEVER shop at Best Buy again worst experience ever and Best Buy is a complete SCAM.

Geek squad tried to scam me. I am a broke college student like many living here in CSTAT. I also know nothing about tech, so when my laptop broke I took it to TAMU IT and he ACTUALLY looked at it and told me he was pretty certain it was a hardware issue but I could get a second opinion to be 100%. I went here where the geek squad employee literally didn't even look at my laptop before genuinely, whole heartedly, within a literal minute said to me that the best and CHEAPEST way to fix it was by getting a membership for $170. Proceeded to interrupt me, not actually answer any of my questions, and repeat that the ONLY way for me to fix my laptop was by getting a membership. Not only was she 100% wrong, she literally did not help at all and was just trying to take advantage of the fact that I need my laptop and don't know a lot about tech. She wouldn't even recommend any other (cheaper) places for me to buy the part I need. The guy next to me in line was literally more helpful than she was. Anyway, my laptop ended up needing a really quick fix, (IT guy was right) and I spent less on everything I needed to fix it than I would have on the membership alone. I normally don't need leave reviews, especially bad ones, but I literally can't believe the unabashed, relentless scamming and gaslighting that I experienced here. She was knowledgeable and did try to help, but only under the conditions that she got my money. I guess that is part of the job? I don't know or care because it was just suchhhhh a bad experience that almost cost me way more than it needed to. Honestly, don't waste your time with the geek squad here, there are so many better and cheaper third party options here that are faster too.

We only purchase our electronics and tech items at a physical store rather than online. (Call us old 😆)After checking prices we always return to Best Buy. Today I bought the Galaxy watch 8 for less than half the price. All because of G who helped me with my purchase

I purchased the device insurance last year when i bought my laptop. I went to the technology service desk because my phone wasn’t during on despite being plugged in for over an hour. My volume up button was also stuck, which told her if that can’t be fixed it’s fine i just need my phone on, and the technician quickly told me i needed to buy a whole new phone. Thankfully i went home and decided to plug it into my computer and found out i was able to reset it from my laptop and it is now fine. What I don’t understand is how someone who is trained in technology didn’t even think to plug in my phone to a computer and run diagnostics, and instead was quick to tell me to spend $1100 and buy a new phone. I don’t understand why I paid for this insurance when their first response isn’t that they can try and fix it and rather “go buy a new one”.
