When a vet visit for a senior dog is more expensive than a hospital visit for a human, I think we have a problem. $100 just to be seen, and then $100 for a needle stick, $100 to look at something under a scope, there were more charges adding up to over $500 and that’s not even treatment. I’m not trying to fund your practice for life, I’m just trying to give my dog a few more comfortable years. I even explained before I arrived I was on a tight budget. And then to have the audacity to ask for a donation when I checked out. It’s a sad state when even caring for a dog is only for the wealthy. This Vet is price gouging. Profit over people, or in this case animals.

I want to start this off by saying that I'd been coming to this location for my cats for 5 years. Even after 3 moves, I continued to bring my cats here because I was so happy with the care they were getting. I'm extremely disappointed to have to write this review, but I'm writing my complaint here because I didn't want to call and take out my frustrations on the reception staff that have been nothing but helpful to me over the years. They and the techs are the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. Dr. Pagel was AMAZING. It felt like she genuinely cared about my cats and would take the time to personally message me to follow up on them. Unfortunately, she left this clinic in February and my cats' care was transferred over to Dr. Swanzy. That's when everything went downhill. One of my cats needed his prescription adjusted, but I wanted to discuss it with Dr. Swanzy first, since we would be adjusting both the suspension and the dose. Front desk said they would leave her a message about it since she wasn't in office that day. The next day, I get a notification that my prescription was ready for pickup. No phone call, no discussion. Dr. Swanzy wrote the new prescription as exactly the same dose my cat was on before, just a liquid suspension instead of a pill, which was only half of the adjustments we needed to make. But sure, at least I got his meds. In my next appointment with her, it just felt like she wanted to get me out of the room as soon as possible. It seemed like she was getting annoyed with the questions I was asking. Very cold and straight to the point. Recently (and what ended up being my final straw here), I took my other cat in for a respiratory issue and saw Dr. Tripp, one of the many relief vets they hired (who was very helpful and informative, I saw her twice and was happy with her care, but being a relief vet, she isn't always there). She ran a test and said Dr. Swanzy would reach out with the results on Monday since this was done on a Friday and Dr. Tripp would be out of town for a few weeks. Monday rolled around, I didn't hear anything. Didn't even get the test results in the app like I sometimes do, or a message from the front desk. Tuesday and Wednesday went by without a word, so I called. I was assured Dr. Swanzy would call Thursday. Surprise - she didn't. Then the clinic was closed Friday for a holiday, and I had to wait until Monday to call again. Meanwhile, my cat was ACTIVELY sick and getting sicker, and I couldn't get a hold of the vet to tell me how to help him. I call again on Monday, and get told that they'd mark my request as urgent. I don't get the call from Swanzy until an hour after the clinic closed. But at least I finally got the call...even if it was entire week later. Swanzy sounded cold and disinterested. The meds my cat needed would take a few days to be ready, so she wrote a prescription for something else that would be ready quicker and that "should" help. She said she would check in with me after a week of treatment to see how it was helping. Can you guess if I ever got that call, or even a text? Of course I didn't, and I wasn't about to waste another week trying to get a hold of her. The meds did not help my cat, and he is STILL sick. Seeing as this clinic has seemingly not hired another resident vet after Dr. Pagel left, there's no reason for me to keep coming here. I will be taking my cat to a different clinic to get him checked out for something that should've been solved weeks ago. I understand that with only one resident vet, that vet can get overwhelmed with patients. But the lack of follow up and communication while I've continuously called back trying to get SOMEONE to help my sick cat is absolutely unacceptable. It's like y'all took my money for testing and treatment (that didn't even work) and then ghosted me. Now, I have to spend even more money, since my cat's condition seems like it has developed into something worse.

We recently visited for a second exam to address our senior dog's intermittent cough, and we were extremely disappointed with the level of care and professionalism displayed by Dr. Stephanie Swanzy and the staff. Here are the specific issues we encountered during our visit: First and foremost, Dr. Swanzy was an hour late to our scheduled appointment. It was past their business hours at this point, so the entire exam felt rushed as though our concerns were not being heard. Moreover, Dr. Swanzy performed procedures we did not authorize. While discussing with the staff the best course of action given her prognosis and our dog's advanced age, we needed time to process and discuss alternative options and seek a second opinion. Instead, we were informed that unauthorized procedures were done, and were presented with an invoice for approximately $1,000, well above what we could afford. It seemed as though profit was prioritized at all costs. My heart goes out to the pet owners who get taken advantage of in stressful situations such as these, and feel obligated to pay for services without their written consent. In conclusion, our dog is in the same condition as she was before meeting Dr. Swanzy, which leads us to question what procedures were actually done. While she did drop the costs of the x-rays, the whole experience was traumatizing, and for that reason, we expect a full refund. We hope that these issues are addressed in haste, and improvements are made to ensure that future clients and their pets receive the quality care they deserve.
