I want to start by saying that the staff here were all very nice and accommodating. I went in to buy a Samsung Galaxy S7 but they were out, so they kindly called the other store to see if they had any in stock. They did not. So the store manager, I believe his name is Dre, sold me on the S8. It’s about $150 more than the S7, that’s way more than I had planned on spending and I explained that to him. I explained my whole financial situation to him and he sympathetically agreed that times are tough blah blah blah, but this phone is worth it and I had to have it. OKAY, so I HAD to have it. MY CHOICE. The phone is amazing and I love it! Here’s where it all went wrong...I signed up for their financing program through Progressive Leasing and I very stupidly allowed Mr Dre to rush me right through all the fine print; as I was asking him all the right questions like, “how much will my payments be” and “how long will I be paying on it” he was giving me very vague and very very wrong answers. I blindly signed and initialed in all the correct places while he reassured me that I would get a copy emailed to me and I could go online and adjust my payments as needed. He told me my payments would be approximately $60 a month for 12 months. He is so charming and friendly, he made sure I understood all about my phone, he even walked me to the door and opened it for me when I left.
When I got the email with my copy of the lease that I blindly signed, MY CHOICE, my STUPID CHOICE, I saw that my payment are NOT $60 a month they are $144 a month for 12 months! This phone that is around $750 is now costing me $1700! I immediately called Cricket because I figured there had to be a mistake and they calmly told me, no that’s correct, that’s what you owe. So, they looked me in the eye and lied to me, even though I had told them, point blank, I could not afford a payment more than $60 a month. I’m writing this review because I hope anyone who reads it will make sure they read the fine print if they use this service when shopping at this Cricket store, because they will ruthlessly do anything for a sale.
