The warranty plans that Best Buy have may be the biggest ripoff ever for example, if you purchase a Best Buy warranty, the total plan with Best Buy and you don’t renew it all your items that you have purchased previously are not covered under that warranty so when you purchase new items and you have a total plan and you maintain that plan $179 per year. then your items are covered under the new plant as long as you keep it active at 179 a month. And you still may have to pay a shipping fee to ship your equipment off so en closing the total plan and warranty plan is a rip off

This review is a culmination of years of disgust with this location. Today was the winner though...and its about $9. For reference, I have the Best Buy Membership and the Credit Card. I did a fair but of impulse buying with Best Buy, and while I don't spend 10k a year anymore, my spend there is not tiny. Lets first talk about this specific Best Buy store. If you have been to the Harbison location, or the Florence location, this store isn't those locations. This location is cluttered, its shelves are empty. Honestly its similar to the Best Buy outlet up in Charlotte. But wait, let's get to the employees. I know finding people that want to work is hard in this market, especially in retail, but its the depth of disgust that these employees have for customers that is truly amazing. I don't need to be carried in on someone's shoulders, but when I show up for an online pickup, don't make me feel like i'm interrupting your life work. Since just after Covid ended, the quality of the employees at this store hit the ocean bottom and just stayed there. That's just the feeling overall that I've had for the last few years. I have driven 30 extra minutes to go to other locations, but since this one is closer, I kept going for convenience. Today was a winner though. I found an open box 32" TV on the app (because everything is on the app) for $66.81. I wasn't sure if the TV was what I needed for my project, so I actually drove to the store with a return I needed to do anyway, and went in. When I walked in with the return, the person at the front desk was critically busy scrolling through TikTok, and when I asked if they needed to mark it for a return before I went to the counter, seemed annoyed that I bothered their social media scrolling. Return went fine, no issues. With my child in tow, I went to look at the TV. F20 Insignia 32" Fire TV. New on sale for $79.99. Since I figured my project may result in this thing getting destroyed, I figured I would save a few bucks. Found the only one on the floor that matched the BEST BUY APP open-box, took it to the front to ring up. The representative, rang it up and told me it was $75.99. I showed him the app, and then the price. His response "Why didn't you order it online?" I explained my purpose and he goes: "Well, its not that price now, so either order it online and wait or...I don't know man." Outstanding. Just outstanding. Purchased a lego figurine for my kid and headed out the door. Happened to be a black shirt manager by the door, and I explained the situation. His answer: "Its open box." Yea, I know man, that's why I'm here. He just shrugged and said "Nothing I can do." For those that are wondering, this interaction right there is why this store absolutely sucks. Because the management cares as little as the employees. So here is the deal: I am a big fan of Best Buy. I want there to be stores like Best Buy, where people can go and look at and touch things. I want Best Buy to be successful, and for people to buy things there and not Amazon. But this store needs to be shut down completely. This store is why people shop online. This is me, complaining into the wind because there is no way a regional or district manager can walk through that location and not be VERY aware of just how terrible it is.

I picked up my order no problems. 4 stars because the online person helping me purchase my order attempted to keep upcharging me (at least 2-3x). Eventually, I informed the online associate that if they continued to offer additives, I would take my business elsewhere.

The company as a whole sucks. Walmart has better return policies than them and their exteneded warranty is better as well. I purchased an item on black friday with Best Buy online. With a gift card my order got canceled on December 3rd. They still haven't returned my money after promising me on Monday that my money would be returned to me in 3 business days. It is now Friday and no the money did not go back to my card. I sat and spoke to 4 different people Monday and got three different stories. The the 3-4 person i spoke to which one was a manager said I would get my money by yesterday. Which obviously was a lie. When I spoke to a manager at corporate today he said the 3rd and 4th people lied to me. And they couldn't get me back my money by today. He told me that he would have to send in a request to see what would happen. I asked him to directly send me to the department who would deal with this he told me that was impossible because there was no way to get to them. It's important to know that I only spoke to people in corporate none of them know how to do their jobs. Each person I have spoken to has had a different answer and none of them obviously know policy. And the only reason I had to use a gift card is because I had returned an item they no longer offered and refused to give me my money back initially. I was a long time best buy customer. But will no longer be. I am being held hostage as a customer at this point. I wanted to use the gift card to buy my children a Christmas gifts and now I will not be able to. DO NOT BUY FROM BEST BUY. AND IF YOU DO, DO NOT LET THEM GIVE YOU A GIFT CARD IF YOU NEED TO TAKE YOUR ITEM BACK. their customer service sucks and at this point they have your money weather you like it or not.

I’ll drive to Florence before I come to this place again. We wait 20 minutes to get someone to unlock the laptop case, then get told the laptop we’re getting is slow and we should get the more expensive one. (It’s a fine laptop and has 4.6 stars online). After she proceeds to tell us how junkie this laptop is she gives us a 10 minute lecture on why we should get the warranty. We decline it she insists. She won’t open the laptop cabinet, after almost walking away she opens the cabinet and takes it out. After that she carries the laptop while we wanted to go look at a tv. I kid you not, she held the laptop and walked around with us. Couldn’t have the respect to say I’ll hold it for you, even if you thought we were gonna “steal” this junkie laptop apparently. We go to the cash register and I kid you not this chick throws a sly remark that once the 15 day warranty is gone there’s nothing we can do for you. I have never in my life been treated like that, we walked out laughing at how ridiculous this place really is. Definitely going to another Best Buy before I think about coming here again. I’m tempted to take this laptop back and go buy another one from a different Best Buy that deserves my business. Petty? Yes. But I would much rather spend more and give my business to someone who doesn’t treat me like a criminal for just asking to open the laptop cabinet and declining a stupid $50 warranty on a $200 laptop.
