- MVMaxim VergelesOct 21, 20251.0I went to Best Buy State College, PA for a dash cam install, it was one of the worst experiences I got in a long while. Daryl was rude and unprofessional. The whole process took twice as long as was promised to me initially. He didn't install the rear camera properly and tried to argue that it was good enough, threatened me with additional charges since I had the audacity to demand that it should be installed properly. Daryl didn't inform me that after his install the fuse box cover would not fit anymore, he didn't tell that to me before the install or even after. If I knew that was the case, I would have gone with the rearview mirror as the power source, not the fuse box. You do expect that the experts advise you of your options. But Daryl is no expert, after arriving home I found out that he didn't even follow the camera manual for the installation - he stuck both cameras directly to the glass instead of putting electrostatic film in the middle. Until now I had a good opinion of Best Buy, I shopped there many times over the years, having a good experience. So, I'm very surprised and disappointed that Best Buy employs people such as Daryl, who destroy its reputation. I strongly recommend looking somewhere else for dash cam installs.
- BABorja ArenzanaOct 1, 20251.0This is some of the most unacceptable "service" I have ever received for tech repairs. I have a samsung laptop with a broken screen. Spent a week trying to find best price to fix. Geek squad quoted me $300-450 for the repair. So I went with it after paying an $85 fee which they called a "deposit". Well after waiting almost 2 weeks for a response they get back to me with a $1100 repair bill, which was insane and higher than other places I went to beforehand. So they suckered me into paying 85$ to hit me with a bill almost 3x their quoted price. What a scam! And this was not even refundable because it covers "shipping and inspection" which is nonsense. It did not say anywhere on the fine print that this was no refundable and was a seperate charge. Complete waste of time and money. Dont fall for their bogus low repair cost estimates.
- KMKonner MichaelsJul 29, 20254.0Very helpful and informative. However, they do seem to have a steep curve when it comes to pricing technical help. Namely, it can be reasoned that a fix of fifteen minutes for a professional they will charge fifty bucks plus. But at least it will be done right.
