- JDJay DormanDec 10, 20251.0Switched both phone and home internet to Verizon back in April 2025. Huge mistake. Thought the guy that helped me get my phone booted up was super chill. Because their website prompted me to do so, I have 1 Verizon account with my phone and 1 with 5G home internet (NOT Fios). The guy assured me that the accounts would automatically combine and I’d receive the mobile + home discount the following month. I’m writing this in December 2025. My accounts are still separate and I have not received the discount once. I’ve tried a thousand times, but support either ends the chat, transfers me to a new agent, or hangs up on me after I explain my situation (which I have to explain from square one every single time, even though the website claims agents can read the previous chat when you’re transferred to a new agent). A few have tried claiming the discount is only available to Fios customers, which would mean Verizon is committing fraud via false advertising. I’m starting to become inclined to believe this, as it’s seemingly impossible to get the discount with 5G, even though they advertise it. This isn’t even getting into how my plans have increased about $40 since April alone, even though they’re both price locked. The fine print states the lock only includes base price, not any other fees they want to jack up whenever they want. I assumed this was something that only happened occasionally but nope! There’s also the approximately $200 they charged me for TravelPasses I didn’t purchase, even though they’re only supposed to charge per minute/mb of data used when out of the country. Just as an example, I was charged $13 for a day TravelPass for using .0001gb of data (that’s pulled directly from my usage report from them!). .0001gb should have been free when you pay as you go, but they signed me up without consent for TravelPass anyways. I would have dumped Verizon almost immediately, but I’m locked in because of the “free” phone they gave me. You “pay” it off in bits each month. If I were to switch carriers now, I’d have to pay the remaining amount for the phone immediately. Absolute scam artists these guys are.
