Things that I really liked about our first visit (so you can tell what we didn't like about our vet of the past 3+ years):
They gave you the first vet visit free. And that was super cool. Not that I could not afford that visit -it gave me a chance to meet the vet and the practice without a huge out of pocket. Which tells me that VCA is pretty confident that you will be back. That's a win in my eyes!
Check-in was calm. Easy. Not a crazy waiting room. Wow. I haven't been to a check-in like that since we left AZ.
The vet tech Erin was so good with Sky and with me. She answered a million questions and did not rush me as I asked them. And I told her why we were trying to switch vets and she did not judge or comment. She understood how to be empathic to a pet mom at the end of her rope.
Now we get to the vet. So my best vets over the past 40 years have been vets that put the pet's concerns upfront. And Dr Lettich did. She got down on the floor, made that anxious dog less anxious, and did the exam while he wasn't noticing. She was patient, understanding, kind, thorough in her explanations, made sure I was comfortable with the plan every step of the way - she chose to involve me in the decision-making and was never condescending. And she understood that I was done with essential oils and CBD and all those remedies that just didn't help my little guy.
And finally - they ended up giving him his Cytopoint 3 days early to save more stressful trips which not only was thoughtful but I will tell you it was about 20% less than the cost of the same shot at his previous vet.
Happy HuMom and happy furkid!!

i completely misread the appointment information and came in two weeks early. i offered to come back, but staff were very accommodating and got me an appointment within the hour! they were very nice to my dog and informed me about the purpose of every vaccine, and answered my health questions. my wallet is a bit sadder, i will admit, but that’s what normally happens owning pets.

Very good people. Went to the wrong place and they still helped me with my passing dog.
