Absolutely unacceptable, I placed two orders yesterday for in store pickup. As clearly stated on the website I would need the order number or QR code AND my ID. I also ONLY listed myself for the pickup. I unfortunately got busy and missed my pickup window. When I got home late this evening I saw an email stating the items had been picked up already. As anyone would be I was very angry, after about two hours I deduced that a family member was trying to be helpful and picked it up for me. Do to some private family concerns I did not and would have never allowed this. Which is why I was the only designated pickup person. I realized they got my QR code from my email which is my fault however they still should have been unable to retrieve the purchases without my ID Card. However Apple Shadyside very clearly violated there own pickup policies by allowing this to happen. I have been a loyal Apple employee as long as I can remember. I am now asking for the store to reach out to me directly and find a way to fix this issue, as the items never should have left the store with anyone other than me.

Broke my MacBook Pro 3 times. Horrible experience. I've been working with this store for over a month. Initially, I went in with a defective HDMI port that didn’t work and was covered under limited warranty. The process was pretty simple: I brought it into the store, they ran diagnostics, and ordered a new logic board and Touch ID sensor. The issues started after the first repair. On pickup, I checked in with Kaylee. She brought my Mac out and I did a visual inspection and noticed that the Touch ID sensor was not seated properly and wiggled in its place. I made a note to Kaylee and she stated that this was normal and nothing to worry about. However, I did not recall my MacBook having this issue before. I then turned around and looked at a display model, which did not have a loose sensor. I asked another representative, Chelsea, to take a look and she said that this was not normal. Kaylee then told Chelsea that she was busy with other customers and could no longer help me, and Chelsea took over the issue. I left my MacBook with the store and later that day picked it back up with the Touch ID issue resolved. A week or so later, I went to use my MacBook and realized the right speaker no longer worked. This was the second failed repair with Apple Shadyside. At this point, I told them that I did not trust their repair process and would like to receive a replacement MacBook. I spoke to someone in the manager’s office at the store — Quinn. Quinn was very friendly and noted that I could take the device in to get repaired again. Unfortunately, I was out of the city for the holidays, so I had to visit Apple Lehigh Valley instead. They took the device and repaired it in about 45 minutes, noting that it was just a disconnected cable to the right speaker. However, after getting my device repaired and using it a few days later, I noticed that the bottom plate of the MacBook was not seated properly and made a popping/creaking noise when pressed. This was not an issue with my MacBook prior. Due to frustration, I called Apple in the late afternoon on Jan. 13 and was told that they would replace the device due to the numerous failed repair attempts. I was given the option to replace my device in-store at Apple Shadyside or have a replacement shipped to me in ~10 days. I chose to go in-store at Apple Shadyside. Upon arrival, I checked in and was immediately told that I could not get a replacement device and that this was not their store policy. I explained that everything had been documented under my case and that I was extremely frustrated with the support I’d received. Harry, a manager at Apple Shadyside, further emphasized that they could not replace it on site, despite Apple Support telling me they could. I yet again left the store with no resolution. The miscommunication and lack of quality when repairing devices at this store is disappointing. For a $1,600 computer, you’d think there would be more care and accountability. The only people during this case who genuinely seemed to care were Chelsea and Quinn, despite Quinn not being involved post-speaker repair. However, it was also clear that once Kaylee realized she was wrong about the Touch ID issue, she distanced herself from the situation instead of helping resolve it. Since then, I have been working directly with Apple Support online, and they have been handling the process professionally and efficiently. The contrast in support has been significant. Apple Support has been helpful, responsive, and accountable, while this store has been consistently frustrating and unreliable. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend working with Apple Support directly instead of this location.

Long wait time with no follow up. Checked in a bit before the estimated completion time for a battery replacement. Half an hour after that time I had to hunt down a “genius” to ask if they could see how things were going. No one followed up with us. Went to ask them for help and they were fixing something on their earpiece so I was waiting for them to finish. Looking annoyed they go “I see someone staring, what can I help you with”. Glad I only go to this store once every few years.

The customer service here was very bad. One of the staff members, Richard, was rude to customers. We were trying to complete a trade‑in and purchase a new phone, but he didn’t seem to know how to process the trade‑in and instead told us "why don't you just purchase a phone and walk out here" ????? Ridiculous!
