Ian should not be representing or managing stores in the customer experience industry.
I scheduled a confirmed Apple diagnostic and battery replacement appointment through Apple Support, was told exactly when to come, and showed up one full hour early to be respectful of their time.
Despite this, the Lancaster Apple Store refused to honor the appointment, saying they "didn't have time," and even the manager's response was essentially to leave and "come earlier next time."
That raises an obvious question: what is the point of Apple appointments, diagnostics, and schedules if the store won't honor them?
I was polite, prepared, and followed Apple's process exactly. This experience felt dismissive, illogical, and completely out of character for the Apple standard I've known for years.
Extremely disappointing service execution, not a customer attitude issue.

The best place to go shopping for the holidays. I grew up calling it the Christmas mall. Good layout. Good food court. A great variety of places to shop. Stop at Round One for a drink and some games after shopping.

This Apple store is a madhouse and there were so many employees standing around and when we ask them questions , they pass you to the next person . We wanted to check in for our appointment to replace battery in iPhone 13 and then decided to trade in iPhone XR and iPhone 13 to buy an iPhone 17 . Apple Remote support said that we can trade in up to 5 iPhones to buy a new iPhone but the employees in the store said that we can only trade in 1 iPhone and trade in the other iPhone for Gift card. There are discrepancies on what Apple Remote support say vs what store employees say which was confusing . We got passed to 2 more people before we can get customer service . The employee we got assigned to didn’t seemed too thrilled to help us. Not sure if she was racially profiling us but she was annoyed and more concerned that we were taking pictures in the store to document our visit and for social media reviews. We also had to repeat ourselves at least 2 times whenever we talked to her. We didn’t get her dedicated attention too. She seemed more interested in helping other people standing around us. It was taking too long standing so I asked the self- proclaimed traffic director employee for a stool and he said that he will get one and then ignored my request immediately. I had to ask again to our assigned employee to get a stool which she did get immediately. This was the only nice thing she did for us. The store is full of stuck up employees who pick and choose who they want to help. It was not an enjoyable experience especially when we are buying an expensive item. It would have been a much better experience to buy online and not have to deal with stuck up employees in a chaotic store environment. AI should definitely replace the Apple in-store employees. The employees didn't help much and AI could do their job much better and even be friendlier.
