    Since my original review, I’ve tried to get my iPhone battery replaced. My speaker grills are too dirty to upgrade the battery according to Apple. I can hear my phone ring, I was able to hear every tone in their diagnostics program, yet it failed the audio? I can make calls on speaker phone and can hear/be heard, but my phone failed the audio test? I can make TikTok videos and be heard, but it failed the test and I need to purchase a new phone? No! I got the battery replaced at CPR: Cell Phone Repair on 7th ave. Highly recommend you go there instead. Overpriced but they all are. Takes a while to get an appointment. More interested in getting you to upgrade to new equipment rather than repair what you have. Yes, my computer is old, it still provides me the same functions I bought it for, I don’t need the latest greatest machine at my age. Yes my phone is old and needs a battery that the manufacturer has made it impossible for me to replace myself. It still functions perfectly fine with the exception of the battery. Again, I don’t need the latest model at my age. Please stop trying to not so subtly tell us GenXers to upgrade when what we have works.

    My complaint is w Best Buy corporate not the employees. Geek squad employees are over worked, understaffed... result-Poor customer service. I went to the geek squads to utilize their services for an apple iPhone warranty. It took forever on both sides of my in store experience. I had a set appt to drop off - stood and waited for 30 min past my appt till I was helped. The employees were great once they got to me! Then I had to pick up my phone back at their location once it was fixed. I called 3 times to get get an appt- no answers. So I called the Best Buy 800 call center and was told to just head in and pick up my phone, no appt necessary. When I arrived, they only had one geek squad kid working from what I could see, he was running all over the place while 75 other employees in the store were just standing there with nothing to do. I don’t understand why the employees are not trained to overlap and help each other out more.

    I give them one star only because I couldn’t give them zero stars. I was sent to Best Buy by Apple Support for inspection/repair of my water damaged iPhone. As an Apple Authorized Service provider I fully expected competent, responsive customer service. I was totally disappointed by the experience. The Geek Squad associate seemed uninformed of the process I had been led to expect by Apple Support. He simply indicated, without anything other than a look at the phone that he was 100 percent certain that it was dead and could not be repaired — he essentially declined to even accept it for technical inspection. I left in a state of total frustration and took the phone to a local independent repair service in Eugene, Cellular Mechanix, and in less than a day my phone was repaired and totally functional. I will never visit Best Buy’s Geek Squad again and will recommend to friends that they should avoid doing so!

    So I try to get my laptop hinge fix thru geek squad, they wanted $346 to fix my $249 laptop. So I said No and send it back. When I want to pick up my non fix laptop, they said no we need you to talk to the geek squad people before you can have your laptop back. I said they did not fix it and I am the owner so they can not hold it. So go get it and I will be on my way. They said that is not how it work. I stop him and said I it mine they did NOT fix it. I do not need to talk to them. It is my laptop! I finally asked for a supervisor. They never came and talk to me. After me saying "just give me my laptop and I will be on my way with a lot of bad works I can't say on here! Now for the record I was not try to cut the line off, for the help they are waiting for. I had a best buy employee helping me right then, always he had to do is go in the back scan it and give it to me. But no they think I need to talk to someone that did NOT fix my laptop. Best thing I can say is save time and money and go to any other store and buy a new laptop. Geek Squad is a joke! Never going to them again!
