I’ve been with this group for almost 20 years, back when the docs and techs were with Hollywood Vet Hospital. They’ve helped me with very complicated health issues for two dogs. I moved to St John’s and make the trek happily to keep the continuity of care but also because the level of care is worth it.

staff are so friendly and kind, very comforting when I'm worried about my babies. appointments are easy to make on the app, and the vets are SO amazing. very patient, informative, gentle, and answered all of my 10 million questions. even sent me messages after with food and supplement suggestions, and promptly called with results once labs were back. would definitely recommend for a primary care provider.

VCA staff have always been so kind, so empathetic, so careful with our fur babies. the first free vet exam for both of our cats REALLY helped make their care accessible to our family.
At our last appointment she wouldn't come out of the carrier. they didn't charge us an exam fee, which i really appreciated, and they were able to get us a new appointmentin first a few days.
VCA vaccinations can be a little spendy, but there are other resources in town to get them done elsewhere. vca staff are very informed about these resources and pointed us in the right direction.
The staff are always so understanding and kind and they handle difficult emotional conversations about euthanasia and quality of life with such tender care. really appreciate the service we consistently receive here!

Spoke with Ivy and three separate reps via vca app and the clinic. I received an email clarifying that my pup was due for an appointment. I am currently out of the country and the pet sitter and I had to prioritize on our end an appointment as well with the clinic. I received over seven emails and vca notifications regarding a fecal test, an exam, rabies vaccines, three other vaccines, and a heartworming test, mind you these were all annual and past due from less than one year since my last exam. The email thread started nearly a month ago, not once did I receive a price on any of the past due required services. I spoke three weeks ago, asking to remove the fecal required testing because I already did three tests in one year. In total, without a single employee out of four employees from the VCA app, customer service reps, and Ivy- not once did anyone tell me the price would be over $447.80. Be very watchful for this clinic. They claimed that they couldn't tell me the price because too much was going on. But the last email was over two weeks ago, therefore there is no excuse to be transparent in pricing. Disappointing and extremely unprofessional.
Skip this vet clinic if you wanna speak with competent reps that transparently display all the prices for over seven separate services.

VCA has been our vet for about four years, in Vancouver and now in Portland. The staff are consistently kind and handle our cats compassionately.
To discuss costs in these trying times: The new care plans are good options to break high cost establishment care for new kittens or puppies into affordable monthly payments for their first year. The cost of care out of pocket falls in the middle, not the low or high end, and the initial exam as a first time patient is free.
