Bought a laptop, advised our agent we had an annual Microsoft subscription and wouldn't need any supplemental programs. Drove over an hour home to discover we were charged for a MS365 personal 3 month plan. To try to contact the store directly is impossible, after multiple attempts I finally defeated the chat bot and got a live person. They submitted a service request and told me store would call within 24 hours. Almost a week later and nothing. Back to the toll free line and endless runaround with very prompt automated cutoffs. So I tried the chat function at Bestbuy.ca, left a detailed message only to hit send and get an "Oops, something g went wrong". This is brutal service if you cannot call a store directly to correct a billing error, or even down to such dismal success in your chat function. Staff were helpful in Peterborough but trying to reach someone with an issue should not be such an ordeal! Update!!!! After store owner outreach, we went back and met with Spencer at the Peterborough store again. He was exceptionally helpful and addresses my issues. My sole remaining issue is the lack of a direct phone line to the store. Otherwise, thank you Best Buy for making this right!

For many years, this has by far been my favorite BestBuy location, buying my TV, computer monitors, JBL speaker, and many other things. I have especially had a great experience in the TV section, the staff there are great at going above and beyond - they even corrected a mistake and apologized when they accidentally told me incorrect information when buying a device. Now, with all this being said, I recently had a terrible experience which made me leave the store before even walking past the employees that greet customers. I bought a very expensive 11.4 surround sound system on bestbuy.ca and went into the store to get some speaker stands. It turns out they do not carry any speaker stands in store, but they do online. So, when the worker(s) asked me if I needed help with anything, I said yes, I would like help figuring out what speaker stands to purchase from bestbuy.ca. The first worker right away looked over at another worker (I assume a manager?) and said 'we don't do that right', and then they both looked at me and said 'we can not help you with that'. I said, while I bought the speakers from bestbuy, and you guys even have them in-store right now. Can't you help me figure out the size of stands I need? They once again said no, even if I had the dimensions they would not be able to help, and either way none of that information would be on the box, or available on bestbuy.ca. SO, I went back to my car, and sat there very confused, as at this location I have always had great experience with the 4 or 5 staff I have spoken with when making previous purchases. I went on the bestbuy website via my phone, and right away found the speaker dimensions! I then went back into the store, completely ignored the staff that refused to help me, and went to the TV section where unfortunately, I did not recognize any of the staff working that day. However, right away an employee that was busy saw me standing there and called over for someone else to come assist me. The worker who came was great!!!! They did not even work in the sales department, they were from the warehouse, yet they still said 'hey, I do not know much about this stuff, so lets figure it out together'. That is exactly what we did, and she was very honest along the entire process, and provided me with a great list of options that were specific to my needs. I did not know how many stars to make this review, since the workers at the front deserve a 1 star review, ESPECIALLY since one of them has worked there way up the ranks, and still provided the worst experience I have had at any bestbuy. However, the TV section staff, and whichever warehouse worker that helped me deserve 5 stars! I went with 2 for now, as I am hoping someone who works at this location will see this and provide a response. This location is so close to perfect, I really do want to keep coming back. However, the workers who were greeting me at the door (one was male, and their *boss* was female) sure do need some guidance to align better with the experience the rest of the staff provide.
