    Today I had an unpleasant experience at Best Buy Express – Georgian Mall, which was disappointing given my positive experience here last year when I purchased a phone and received excellent service. I came in today expecting similar service after seeing a Boxing Day promotion for existing customers to upgrade their phones. Upon entering the store, I noticed a monitor placed away from the main counter. There was no signage or notice indicating that customers were not permitted to use it, so I reasonably assumed it was a self-service screen, as is common in many other stores. I want to be clear that the initial misunderstanding was partly my fault because I did not check out clearly. Shortly after I used the monitor, a staff member abruptly approached me and warned me that I was not allowed to use it. I immediately stepped back and apologized, acknowledging the misunderstanding. I then politely mentioned that having a sign would help avoid confusion for customers. Unfortunately, instead of explanation or any offer of assistance, the staff member interrupted me before I could finish my sentence, repeated “You are not allowed” in a confrontational manner, then walked away without asking if I needed any help. While I accept responsibility for the initial mistake, the interaction left me feeling unwelcome and dismissed. As a result, I left the store without making a purchase. Clear communication and respectful customer service go a long way, and unfortunately, that was lacking during this visit.

    I had an extremely unpleasant experience at this Best Buy location. After picking up my order, I needed to return the item immediately. I was told I had to wait 15 minutes for the receipt to be generated before I could return it. We left and walked around the mall, received the receipt by email, came back to the store, and were then told we had to wait an additional 30 minutes for the system to “update.” To make matters worse, while explaining this to us, the associate proceeded to shove a Vicks vapour stick up his nose and loudly snort it right in front of us while talking. It was completely unprofessional and honestly disgusting. The entire process was inconvenient, poorly handled, and uncomfortable. This was not the level of service or professionalism I expect from Best Buy.
