Came in on a deal with a cat I found outside. They provided a free flea treatment for her new pet visit. I would say it’s pricey. I didn’t choose to go with them for her continued care for that reason. However they are completely transparent about their pricing, and estimates. No surprises. So if you can afford it, I’d suggest it. She lives with her family, and is healthy now. Photo below.

I called Northwood this morning at 7:59 AM and spoke to Angel. She was unpleasant from the beginning and got nice nasty with me after about 30 seconds. I’ve been a patient of Dr. Bruce for many years and have taken all my pets there. My dog has hurt his front leg and can barely walk and is hopping on 3 legs now. She refused to give me an appointment at all. When I expressed frustration towards the office that every time one of my pets is sick or hurt I can’t ever get an appointment and they are always booked out for weeks/even months at a time she got very defensive and hung up on me! Angel’s name is not in any way an indicator of her demeanour. Unfortunately I won’t be going back. Despite having spent 10’s of thousands of dollars there in the last few years I won’t be disrespected or allow them to provide HORRIBLE service to my pets. They deserve better. We all do. Dr. Bruce may be a great vet but some of the staff have poisoned the whole office. They’ve been playing me for years and I’ve overlooked a lot in the past but no more. If you really care about your pets then stay away from this hospital!!!!

Brought my dog here a few times over the course of 2 weeks because they continued to be the only vet in the area with availability, which in hindsight is probably a good indication of the service we received. Our concerns were brushed off time and time again as just symptomatic issues and we were told it would just take time for recovery. We saw Dr. Garcia on a Friday where our concerns were once again brushed off. Our 6 year old dog died in our car while being taken to medvet on sunday. I understand that vets don’t get it right 100% of the time, but to continuously brush off concerns and have the dog pass 2 days later is heartbreaking and at such a young age, the symptoms she was experiencing should have been taken seriously.

Very straight forward and understanding I came here for a second opinion which I got and they explained it all clearly so I could make an educated decision for my dog of 14 years. They WERE NOT like another place Urbana Veterinary Clinic that was allowing my pet to suffer while they milked me for money. These guys did a great job and like I said we’re right to the point without pushing an agenda.

Extremely rude and impersonal but arguably the best care your pet can get for the money in the area. If it's a matter of life or death take your pet here, anything else take them somewhere else For context I spent ~$1,600+ over the course of 6 months with VCA, and told them I needed another ~$400 worth of procedures done BEFORE the holidays because my job is very busy during the holidays, wouldn't have time during. I had a previous balance of $117 left over (for a fecal sample check of all things, insanely overpriced to look at the contents of a turd), told them I'd pay that and the ~$400 all at once, if they could schedule me in BEFORE the holidays. They didn't, then rudely called me multiple times during work hours or while I was sleeping to go to work (2nd shift) in the middle of the Holiday season etc, then threatened to send me to collections over not paying that $117, just 6 days before Christmas, when the reality of the situation is if they hadn't blown me off and refused to schedule me BEFORE the holidays like I asked, they'd have had over $500 additional dollars of mine not just that $117. It wasn't an issue of the schedule being full either, they told me they had plenty of availability but "only X person can schedule it" then treated it like they didn't give a shit if I got in there when my schedule would allow me to or not They don't care about you or your personal life or really even the health of your pet, they just want your money above and beyond everything else, yet somehow won't work with you and your schedule for you to be able to spend money with them/pay them back, then have the nerve to threaten to send you to collections over what amounts to less than 10% of all the money you've spent with them previously. Like I said find a different vet unless it's literally life or death
