  Dropped my phone off for a repair at 11:30am. Provided a good phone number to call me at when it was ready. Was told the device should be ready in 1.5-2 hours. I never once received a phone call, text, etc and it’s approaching 4pm. Decided to try and call for an update. Cannot speak to a real person due to AI. However, AI told me to check the status online and it shows it was ready at 1pm. Went up there to pick it up, was told they just finished. Either way, never got a call or status update on my repair. Got home, checked my email on my phone and shows the same thing, that my device was ready for pick up at 1pm. Although my battery was repaired, I will absolutely not use Best Buy for repairs again.

  Came in for virus. They said I needed a CPU -$250 Advised me to get the membership to give free unlimited fixes for the rest of the year (somewhat bs) -$200 Still didn’t work They then said I needed a new motherboard -$250 But not only that, they have to charge a “rebuild” fee for taking my old motherboard out and putting the new one in -$100 They then call me back and say it’s working and booted up fine. I pick it up, get it home, and it doesn’t boot. Take it back. They say my new motherboard is defective and I need a new power supply. -$100 for power supply…I then picked my pc up after they made me wait nearly an hour just to sign a paper saying I picked up my pc. The lady next to me while was in there was also getting scammed out of her money trust when I say to just stay far away.

  I have had two interactions with Geek Squad North Canton in the last few months. Both times I was somehow skipped in line, even having an appointment, causing wait times over an hour. The technicians themselves are super nice and knowledgeable, and I know that they do what they can to make up for it. I suggest making an appointment for first thing in the morning if you can. Suggestion for corporate, perhaps limiting appointment slots to only so many an hour for a start? Instead of one every 15/20 minutes, how about one every 30/35 minutes. I would be very interested to know what the average help time is - no way are they under 15 minutes! People/appointments back up really fast. Even just running diagnostic and the paperwork/consents take longer than that. I get that the more appointments you have, the more money you make, but at some point customer satisfaction has to come first, right?! Get it together, Geek Squad!
