    Dayton Mall Best Buy let me buy an open box 83" LG C4 that was a display model. They marked the quality as "Open Box - Excellent", but when I got there, it was missing the box, all accessories, stand, etc. It should have been marked fair, if anything. It was clearly an old display model, but seemed in okay enough shape. Regardless, I rent a van, I spend 3 hours transporting it and the van to and from Home Depot. I plug the TV in... It doesn't work... The warranty should cover me, right? Geek Squad is super helpful and the guys that came by to try to fix it did order parts and attempt to fix, but could not solve it. They did mention trying to contact the Dayton Mall store to see why they sold a TV that in their opinion, shouldn't have been sold as is. They could not reach anyone. After trying to get a call back from them for a week while waiting for repair parts, no one contacted them. They then explain to me that the warranty doesn't actually cover full replacement on open box products, just a refund/credit towards a different product. So now I'm out over $100 in gas and rental fees and materials to transport. Online support can only help get it returned and refunded. They told me to contact the store to see if they can do more, but guess what - you can't actually call the stores. The Geek Squad guys even tried to contact the Dayton Mall Best Buy to see why they sold a TV that was in "as bad a shape as this" in their words. Shame on me for not doing more due dillegence, but I just feel like I wasted a ton of money for nothing, weeks waiting for a solution, with nothing to show for it. Support is now telling me I have to spend more money to buy a box that fits it and put a shipping label on it. Uhhh. No.

    Like most places post pandemic seems to be missing it's quality. Hard to find anyone to answer questions. Store looks empty compared to the past. Just a different feel. The prices are higher and lower quality and service.

    I am extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled by Best Buy. I purchased a laptop for $1,399.99 using my Best Buy credit card. the price dropped to $1,049.99 — a $350 difference during when i reached out after the return window expired by 3 days. . I contacted customer support to understand my options. To be certain, I spoke with three different representatives, and all of them gave me the same instruction: go to the store, have the item physically validated, and return and repurchase it at the lower price since it was unused. The laptop was unopened completely unused, in original condition. No rewards were redeemed, no promotional credits were used, and nothing was activated. Based on consistent guidance from multiple representatives, I went to the store. However, the store refused to accept the return. After being denied in person, I contacted customer support again and only then was I told that the actual policy does not allow returns outside the return window, even by a few days. This is the most frustrating part. I verified the process multiple times before making the trip, yet I was given incorrect information repeatedly. If the policy is strict, it should be clearly communicated from the start not after sending a customer to the store unnecessarily. Being only three days outside the return window, with an unused item and a $350 price drop, I expected reasonable flexibility especially as a Best Buy credit card holder. Very disappointing experience and poor coordination between online and in-store teams. Update: I reached out to them on Facebook because of their reply to this review and was shared the same thing which is a link to the return policy :D. People only reach out to you when they miss or forget inadvertently about the return window. Here thought i would be helped as a customer who was with best buy from 9 years. Very disappointing. on bottom of that they did not even look at the unused laptop nor verified it. they straight up told they cannot do anything since its outside the return window. all i expected was little bit of compassion and help as the amount of 350 is a big deal for me.
