I adopted a dog, and he was perfectly fine and healthy for two weeks. I brought him to VCA for a free wellness exam, and he ended up catching kennel cough. Ironically, a free appointment has actually cost me money going to another vet to get antibiotics. For three weeks, I've been dealing with this, and it's been terrible. The cheap ended up coming out expensive. I gave two stars instead of one because everyone in the office was friendly. I wish I could reverse time, I wouldn't have taken up their free exam offer.

Very caring people that I interacted with. Sam, vet tech was pleasant and spent alot of time with me and my furbaby. Dr. Snakes was thorough and explained everything that was needed for my furbaby.

****I BROUGHT MY HEALTHY ENERGETIC CAT HERE FOR ROUTINE LAB WORK AND NOW SHE WONT MOVE OR EAT All of this for almost $600 out of my pocket I brought my 12 year old cat in for some labs just as a proactive measure as I had not had her to the vet in some years and she is now a senior. She was completely healthy when I brought her, a day or two before I noticed one watery eye but otherwise she was fine. They strongly encouraged I vaccinate her for transmitted diseases like distemper even though she is strictly indoor and has those vaccines as a kitten and aspirated a fatty lump without my consent. But all of her lab work came back in normal ranges - great! However, I supposedly received a voicemail that bacterial rods were detected and they could use the same sample taken 2 days prior but it had to be used the same day of the supposed voicemail. A week goes by and I call to ask the results of the labs and am then told they could have used the same sample to send off for further testing but it is no longer viable. This meant I had to go back to the vet and pay for more labwork all over again. During this same phone call my cat was prescribed an antibiotic. So I go pick up the antibiotic the same day and have her scheduled for a follow up appt 5 days later so they can collect a new sample as I was told there was only a 60% chance the antibiotic they prescribed would be effective. I show up for the appt 5 days later and am told they can’t do a culture while my pet has been on antibiotics. So not only did the person who told me to come pick up the meds schedule the appt which was not even feasible given my cat would be on said antibiotics - I wasted time on my day off and stressed out my cat bringing her back there for no reason. They did give me some extra antibiotics free but at this point that is meaningless. ***The problem is my healthy cat prior to that appt has now drastically dropped weight and is barely eating. I went from an energetic and happy senior cat to a cat that won’t leave my bed and is refusing food.*** I’m going to put that again in caps for those who don’t read the whole review up above

this place has no sense of urgency. brought my cat here because he hadnt been eating nor had he been going to the litter for a couple days. the vet barely seemed like she was sure of anything she was saying. the next day i called an ER and they said to take him in immediately. he ended up needing surgery. will not be coming back.

No service - wouldn't honor new patient - free physical exam. I a new cat, kitten, less than a year old, never seen a vet or ever been to VCA in College HIll. I was told that it's only for adopted animal and new patients.. I figured the cat was a new patient since she hadn't been seen there, but the ad didn't say it was for adopted animals. Good thing there are plenty of vets and also more pleasant front office staff.
