I wish I read the reviews before coming here, unfortunately my situation was an emergency that simply was not treated as such. I was left waiting outside for 6 hours with my nervous and suffering dog, charlie, with no communication from them at all. I finally went inside to ask again why my pet had not yet been seen. They told me to bring him in and that they would give him a room immediately. I then brought my dog in, still no one came into the room for another hour. Finally, I went out and spoke to one of the vets, who promised me he would be seen if I brought him in the next day again. I apparently was charged 100 for this 2 minute talk. They are only about money here. I beg that you consider anywhere else for your animals. I foolishly showed up the next day as they had asked, just for me to be left waiting in the car for another four hours. I called them for an update about what was going on, and they told me they would not examine my dog, and made me come into the back of the center to get him. I cannot begin to describe just how unprofessional they are here. I was lucky my aunt called another emergency center, who agreed to see him immediately. I went in to collect my dog, just to be met by the rude receptionist who demanded I paid immediately and before I got to see my dog. I asked to see the receipt, as I could not imagine how absolutely no help for him, and him not even being seen could possibly accumulate to a total cost of almost 300, and she refused me seeing the receipt, claiming it would be emailed to me after I paid. She did not even try to explain what could possibly be on the receipt, she just kept saying “it’s from yesterday and today”. I paid simply because I actually care about my dogs health and wanted to take him immediately to be seen by actual professional and caring vets, and to have our situation treated like the emergency it was. I thought I could always call them if the price was truly incorrect. I went home, and upon receiving the receipt, found I was charged for prescriptions for lymes disease, which he had not even been tested for. I accepted paying for them, as I actually received those, despite not needing them. I was just lucky I had not given them to him, no thanks to this facility. Paying for an “assessment,” however, or lack of one, that is, was absolutely ridiculous and grossly disrespectful. I called immediately the next day and was met by yet another rude receptionist who did not want to hear anything about my situation. She told me the 2 minute talk in the lobby where I was simply told to just bring my dog in again was the “assessment” for which I was charged 100. She told me I would be called back, I never was. Things were never made right. Please don’t go here, if you’re actually lucky enough to read the reviews before considering. I have never in my life had such an outrageously disappointing and disrespectful experience in customer service, which is only ironic, as it is such a sensitive area of service, and is supposed to be a place for comforting you and caring for living beings in their time of most need.

We are beyond grateful for the incredible care and compassion the entire team at VCA Westbury has shown Rudy throughout his chemotherapy treatments and his most recent ER stay. From the very beginning, every doctor, technician, and staff member has treated him not just as a patient, but as a beloved member of our family. Rudy is our fur baby and we opted to do every and anything to treat his lymphoma.
Going through cancer treatment with a pet is overwhelming, but the entire team has made it so much more manageable with their kindness, patience, and clear communication. I can not thank Dr. Linderman and his team enough. They've always taken the time to explain every step, answer our questions, and make sure Rudy was as comfortable as possible.
During his recent emergency visit, we were especially touched by how attentive and responsive everyone was. Knowing he was in such capable and caring hands gave us a tremendous sense of relief during a very scary and stressful time.
Rudy is so important to us, and it means everything to know he’s being cared for by people who genuinely love what they do. Thank you for your dedication, your compassion, and for going above and beyond every single day.
We truly couldn’t ask for a better team.
We are beyond grateful for the care and compassion shown by Dr. Green and the incredible staff at Vet Referral Animal Hospital in Westbury. Today was one of the most heartbreaking days for our family, as we learned how advanced our 5 year old European Doberman Brody’s lymphoma is. Despite the devastating news, Dr. Green handled everything with such honesty, sensitivity, and genuine kindness.
What truly set her apart was the way she connected with Brody. She sat on the floor beside him, and he gently placed his head in her lap—something he never does with anyone outside of our family. In that moment, it was clear he trusted her completely, just as we did. She stayed with us for an extended time, petting him, comforting him, and consoling our family. Seeing her become emotional alongside us only reinforced how deeply she cares about her patients.
After experiencing multiple veterinarians and hospitals that felt impersonal and transactional, (Especially VMCLI /W. ISLIP) it meant everything to finally have Brody treated by someone so qualified, compassionate, and sincere. While we wish we had better news, we are thankful that it came from someone with such empathy and integrity.
Dr. Green made Brody feel safe, and she made us feel supported during an incredibly difficult time. We will be forever grateful for her care.

I cannot express enough how glad I am that we took our boy to this place. We spent thousands at other ERs and received no answers!!! This place was the most COMPREHENSIVE, CARING, KNOWLEDGABLE, and LOVING to our boy. They gave us the answers we needed which ultimately saved our boys life!!! I am BEYOND grateful for Nancy, Dr. Russel, and the rest of the staff. Nancy is a genuinely perfect person and really cares about our boy. I express the utmost gratitude to this place. I wish we went here first. PLEASE take my advice, go straight here if possible you will save money, time, and worry.

My dog Chuck was a patient there through the ER. He was very very sick. His working diagnosis was Pancreatitis. He was getting supportive care, treatment and medications. I was so worried leaving him but also hopeful that he was getting care he so desperately needed. I worked closely with the ER vet Dr McGraw who really made me feel so comfortable. It is obvious from our first conversation that she is so smart, she also cares about her patients and it shows. As soon as I met her I knew my dog was in great care.
Nancy was so nice and helpful. I watched her while in the waiting room be so kind to all the patients and their owners. Making people feel more at ease.
Steven was a person that I had gotten on the phone for overnight updates several times and he was so kind, informative and never made me feel like I was a pain for asking questions about my dog.
Brittany did my discharges went over everything so thoroughly and made sure I understood everything. Simplified our medication schedule and wrote down the times for me. She took her time. Also my dog had unfortunately been having issues with accidents and he is a white dog so he was pretty stained and stinky. She brought out a freshly cleaned dog that was so surprising and really made him feel better. I was so thankful. It just shows how well he was cared for.
Thank you all for helping me get Chuck better. He did require surgery and ended up having a pancreatic abscess. He has surgery with his primary vet Dr. Short and is 1 week post op and continuing to get better and better each day. I am thankful for everything you guys did for him.
