  Quick and no hassle purchase

  Went here to purchase a new phone. Everything was going fine until the employee brought the phone out, took it out of the box, double checked I wanted it before removing the stickers, and THEN told me I needed to purchase the protection plan. I said I didn’t want the protection plan. He said it’s the store policy that they need to sell it to everyone, but as soon as I walk out of the store I can cancel it. I said “so I have to take a half hour of my time to figure out how to cancel this protection plan that I don’t even want.” He said it’s easy to do. I purchased the phone and the “mandatory” protection plan. Then after leaving the store I did some research and discovered that it’s illegal to make a customer purchase a protection plan on a phone. The workers obviously get a kickback when someone buys the protection plan. So I went back the next day to return the phone. They said there was a $50 restocking fee. I paid that fee, returned the phone, and left. I then called Verizon and explained the situation, and explained that one of their stores is violating consumer protection laws and explained that I may have to file a lawsuit if I’m not refunded for all this BS. They apologized profusely and seemed shocked that a Verizon store told me I HAD to buy a protection plan. They refunded the $50 restocking fee along with several other BS fees including the protection plan that I was charged by the Warwick location. They also explained that there are corporate stores and franchise stores, and the Warwick location is a franchise store, so there are a lot of fees that corporate stores don’t charge. I think the Verizon store in Warwick should be investigated for policies that violate consumer protection laws, and customers should be aware that this is not a real corporate owned Verizon store.

  Horrible will never shop there. Never bother to tell you if you want a certain color they can order it. Once my contract is up I'll go back to another cell. At least at&t and mobile are more professional. Your staff is horrible. They are on their phones and very rude.
