Every time I come here I feel super judged because comments are made about my decisions about my pet. My cat has been getting sanitary shaves occasionally since he was little bc he has poop issues and doesn’t groom well. It was always covered under care club, never had to pay more. And it was told to me it was under care club with no additional charge. Today my poor baby was having bloody diarrhea (thank god he is ok) and today I took him in and asked for a sanitary shave because I wasn’t able to get the blood and poop off with wipes, and I don’t want to need to bathe him if it happens again. They told me today I had to pay for the sanitary shave even though I never was told it wasn’t covered. When I brought up I thought it was unfair to charge me for a service that has always been covered, they said something along the lines of “it’s a medical facility you should expect to pay” - but I have been paying every month for care club and didn’t know a service randomly wouldn’t be covered one day?? Then she proceeded to tell me he “didn’t need” the sanitary shave anyway and it just made him so upset, in a judgmental manner as if my decision was harmful to my animal. And in all the times he’s had sanitary shaves, I’ve never been told he was unhappy. But isn’t me needing to bathe my cat multiple times bc of bloody diarrhea worse? I love my animal and making me feel like I made the wrong decision was not necessary. Ultimately, they waived the fee, which I do appreciate, but it was an extremely unpleasant encounter. In my opinion, if a service is not covered, that should be told to the patient upfront. I will not be returning.

We have an 11-year-old dog who went through ITP and is now in remission. Dr. Elitsur worked with us through her entire treatment and basically saved her life. Without Dr. Elitsur and the team, we couldn’t imagine our dog being so healthy, energetic, and happy at her age! We are beyond thankful for the vets and technicians, who not only cared for our dog but also supported our family through it all. Everyone here is incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, compassionate, and gentle. Thank you!

Dr. Rudner diagnosed my cat with kidney disease and helped him live so well for 2 years before he declined and had to be put to rest. She was compassionate and informed and always found a way to help me make sure I could give him the very best care. Cassandra, the technician, always loved him and he could be so spicy there. Haha. Everyone in the office was always so kind and helpful. When we had to put our sweet cat to rest, it was as peaceful as it could have been and we received a card with not only signatures but messages from everyone there. We put our other cat down two years at a different vet and I regret it. It was a cold and expensive experience in stark contrast to the care not only my cat but my family received at Jericho animal hospital.
