Geek squad is a scam: brought in a MacBook that needs repair. They apparently can’t do repairs of any kind in the store and need to send it to an offsite repair shop and warned that it might take 4 weeks. I’m sorry but I’m paying a membership so you can take 4 weeks to tell me I need a new computer? It’s 2025, who uses a computer but could go without one for a month? 1/12 of the year?! This is crazy. I walked 10 minutes to a computer repair shop who will give me an answer in 2 hours about whether that can repair it same day or whether it’s scrap. Asked to cancel my membership and of course Best Buy says they can’t cancel it in the store I have to call on the telephone…”because my card is on file”. Kafkaesque and disrespectful to intelligent life.
