Where do I begin? I brought my phone in for repair here and it was a disaster. My phone shutdown on me after less than a year having it. I have Apple Care+ and was still under warranty for my iPhone 16 plus. It was supposed to be sent to my home in 3-5 business days. Why wasn’t I just sent a new phone? If that’s not possible, why did it take the full 5 days? Why was I sent a misleading email telling me to pick it up just for the store to tell me they didn’t have it yet? I was told they didn’t have a loaner phone available either. Thankfully I dug up my old iPhone 12, but I don’t a whole weekend without a functioning phone and another week with my 12. How does one of the two NYC locations not have a loaner phone available? The manager, Curtis, spent two hours helping me unlock my old phone so there would be data and service on it. Curtis, thank you for your time and your help.
When I went in for pickup, the other manager, Melissa, was the one there. I’ll preface this by saying she gave me a free Apple Pencil for my new iPad, but for being without my phone for a week, that simply didn’t feel like enough after the series of errors that occurred on their end. I had a senior customer service supervisor on the phone to speak to Melissa about the issues I faced and the she kept walking away from the conversation and ignoring the call. The supervisor had to ask me if the manager was even listening to her, that’s how noticeable and rude that was. I get being busy and having to do lot at once, but you have to be able to stay in one conversation with one customer for a couple minutes. Instead, I felt like she wasn’t listening to me or the supervisor, which I found to be kind of rude.
The iPad I bought was given to me at 30%, battery and my phone came back at 20%. In what world does that make any sense? Why not charge it before sending it back? Then the person that handed it to me and said she would help me set it up and make sure I was all good just walked away and never came back.
I can’t even begin to count the number of people who mishandled this situation and the number of people that had to clean up the mess. I appreciate the people that took the time to help me. While I also appreciate the freebie, I feel that this store is very poorly managed. For the Apple Store in GRAND CENTRAL NYC, it is very disorganized. This place is an absolute disaster and I will never come back to this store.

My daughter lost her phone and needed to get her a replacement. We were going to attend a Broadway show and stopped at our phone carrier to get a replacement phone. They didn't have the memory capacity that my daughter wanted in stock and the person suggested we get it at the apple store. I was not aware that there was an apple store at Grand Central and decided to go. When we got there, we informed the salesperson that we were pressed for time and he was very understanding. My daughter knew exactly what she wanted and he was able to explain the payment options to her. We completed the transaction quickly and made it to our show on time.

Whatever you do, don’t go here for any type of repair. Had all my data whipped when their clueless Genius Bar staff assured it wouldn’t happen. Terrible communication, embarrassing service. Go anywhere else, no matter how inconvenient. Wish 0 stars was an option.

This was a very frustrating experience. I had to just update my phone to a new phone. I arrived and was seated at a table. One person started to help but seemed frustrated that I had questions and was very rushed. For the next hour and a half, I sat as multiple employees would stop by, answer one question then as soon as my eyes moved to the screen of the phone they would walk away to talk to someone else. Then I had to wait for another 5-10 minutes for them to come back to help finish what was needed. Now I’ve been sitting for 15 mins for them to take the two recycled devices. Two of the employees have just been talking to each other. I had questions about additional purchases but at this point I just want to go home. Very disappointing.
