Apple used to be a great company with exceptional customer service. For many, many years, I had been using its products, and today I had a ridiculous, unprofessional, and very bad experience at the Upper West Side Store with a “specialist” Tavon. After I decided which MacBook to buy, I asked for his help, and within 5 minutes, the “specialist” brought the Mac. Great. He offered Apple Care + 4 times, which I refused, but it was embarrassing to say no because he kept insisting and saying that if I didn’t add it at that time, I wouldn't be able to do that layer. I doubt it, but I accept it. I have an iPhone, a Watch, and an iPad, and I know I can always add it later within 60 days. Anyway. I asked about the price, $6.99, and he mentioned, “The great news is that Apple Care + now includes Theft and Loss, which you need to pay $299 if it’s stolen.” I was surprised, since I knew Apple did not offer theft and loss protection for MacBook. I confirmed with the “specialist”, and he said, “It started about 2 months ago.” What did I do? I believe in that person they call a specialist. I went home, read the terms and conditions, which the “specialist” just skipped for me, and said, “Just accept it.” So, guess what? You got it: It doesn’t cover theft and loss. I called Apple Support, but nothing was done. They transfer the call to the store, guess what! A specialist called me saying, “Yep, you’re right. It was wrong information, I’m sorry”. It’s ridiculous. I bought it as a gift, and I told the person it covers theft and loss. Thank God I recorded everything for my further actions. Also, I will definitely change my iPhone for a Samsung, and sell the watch and iPad to someone who would believe their lies. Samsung is giving $700 in trade-in credit for S26 phones. I know the “specialists” earn commission, but lying to the customers and not selling with integrity should not be allowed anymore. When those “specialists” receive corrective actions, and Apple, shame on you for being quiet and not giving me an answer, solution, or for keeping that “specialist” lying to the customers. Just read all the bad reviews, and you will see how many others complain about this store. Today 04/07/26 no response from Apple or store manager who would call me. BTW I trade-in my iPhone for a S26 Ultra.
