THIS IS ABSURD — Verizon finally explained the $1,600 charge… and it only made things worse.
I got a bill for $1,616.99 even though every device on my account shows $0 balance, some even have credits, and everything says “Service disconnected.”
When I called Verizon, they told me the $1,600+ is a “buyout fee.”
Okay… but then why does the bill show ZERO device balances?
Why is there NO itemization?
Why is the entire $1,600 dumped into one vague line called “Account-wide charges”?
If it’s a buyout, show the breakdown.
Phones, taxes, payoff amounts — ANYTHING.
But nope. The bill shows nothing, just a huge lump charge you’re supposed to blindly accept.
And here’s the kicker:
This structure conveniently prevents you from qualifying for device reimbursement from your new carrier.
Your phones show paid off, so the new carrier won’t reimburse you.
But Verizon still hits you with a $1,600+ “buyout” anyway.
If that doesn’t raise UDAP consumer-protection concerns, I don’t know what does.
Meanwhile:
❌ They marked my bill OVERDUE
❌ While still withdrawing money through direct debit
❌ Then locked me out of my account so I can’t remove the direct debit
❌ And customer service was just scripted nonsense
📸 Picture of my actual Verizon bill is attached — zero balances, yet $1,600 magically appears as “account-wide charges.”
Consumers deserve transparency.
This is ridiculous.

Don't use Verizon especially prepaid. If you have your phone shut off and use another store they will keep charging you and give you a hundred lies way they keep changing you. I never had this problem with any other phone company.

I’ve been to this store twice in the past 6 weeks regarding a printer connection issue. The Verizon rep was rude and his reply was curt. He referred me to other resources. Oddly, it was the same representative both times. This is one of their corporate stores where the service is supposed to be top notch. ZERO Stars from me for this store. Unfortunately, you must select at least one star to proceed.

Sandeep really helped our family by reviewing our plan and optimizing it. He was able to troubleshoot an issue and resolved it in a speedy manner. He followed up after the visit and my wife returned to him again when her iPhone no longer had hotspot. Sandeep is super responsive, helpful and knowledgeable!! If you need help, go to him! Verizon, you have a star here!
