  From start to finish, my visit at Nassau Suffolk was wonderful. A completely different experience from my last vet. From booking the appointment with the front desk (I believe her name was Renee being particularly friendly and helpful), to checking in and having an appointment with Dr. Tanaka who took her time and was super patient with my dog. The vet assistant Kim was one of the nicest people I’d ever met in all the years I’ve had pets, super sweet and took the time to explain how the appointment would go, even giving my nervous baby a treat! While they are definitely not the cheapest vet, Katie at the front desk was so thoughtful and took her time going over different options. Not only was she incredibly informative, but she was so friendly, it was shocking given how my previous vet’s office used to be. If she could teach everyone how to provide customer service the world would be a better place! Given the time and care Dr. Tanaka put into the exam and explanations, I would say it was worth more than a cheap 5-minute exam you can get somewhere else. You can tell the staff is there because they truly love animals. I was lucky enough to speak with Katie again when she called to check on my baby the day after! The staff as a whole has been nothing but kind and educational. I got a call two days after to go over lab work, where again Dr. Tanaka made sure my boy was doing fine and explained what the different values meant. I cannot say that this is a low-cost vet, but I can say that the staff has been nothing but kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and above all, treated me like a dog mom, not as a customer. I would highly recommend giving them a try if you are looking for a new vet!

  Would give zero stars if I could I came here to get my dog put down Katie ( rude as hell )at the front desk came in the back room went over pricing. I advised I was not doing cremation. She then started talking about additional things I could get as far as keeping a piece of the hair and the footprint. After I paid, and was waiting on my dog after he was put down she advised it was not included after I just paid them over 400 for their service -

  Dr Tanaka is the best! The insurance does cover a decent amount well visits blood work. Meds are always high in every vet office. They treat Kilo so sweetly. When Petco left shampoo on him it caused chemical burns. They were so amazing. I was so grateful that they calmed him as I was a mess. Definately reco them

  They show kindness and respect to my Aunt and her old cat always. They sincerely care for animals.
