  These electronic devices are constructed by the manufacturer as inexpensively as possible, and so they break and malfunction. The geek squad warranty will fix any problem, no matter how it happened (except intentional damage--you'd have to be heading to the asylum). They are pleasant to deal with, get the job done in reasonable time, and even have progress updates for you during the process. They do everything by appointment so that they can devote their entire attention to the one customer before them. And you can usually get an appointment the same day. Another big benefit is that you don't have to deal with the manufacturer. In my experience, that can be daunting. Best Buy wants to make you happy because they need return customers. The warranty on my $1400 laptop cost me $300 for 3 years. But the item was marked down $300 at Christmas so I felt that I got a deal on the laptop and I put the money towards my peace of mind. For 3 years I don't have worry about a thing. And I don't have to be in any phone queues to deal with manufactures or have any arguments about repairs. If you are not on a tight budget, get the geek squad warranty. You'll be glad you did.

  I went here for a cracked iPhone display. My appointment was scheduled for 2 pm. Someone finally got to me at 2:30. When I asked if appointments matter if I will have to wait the same line with people who are walking in, I got the "yes it matters because we can plan" answer. Once the process started they realized that someone else must sign off on it. I was asked to wait until that person becomes available. After another 15 minutes I gave up and left.
