- CKCristina KukuyanJan 19, 20261.0I purchased a laptop at bets buy for 2200 dollars. After two and a half years, it completely ceased to function; it simply would not turn on. I visited this location as a membership holder to inquire about potential repairs. I was informed that the laptop was beyond repair, with the motherboard and other components reportedly "fried," and that purchasing a new laptop would be cheaper than repairing my current one. The estimated repair cost was approximately $900. Some time later, I visited a different shop, unrelated to Geek Squad, where my laptop was inspected. I was informed that there was nothing significantly wrong with it; only the SSD card was malfunctioning. I had it replaced for a modest sum and now have a fully functional laptop. I am a membership holder of Geek Squad, and it appears their diagnostic services were not thorough, leading me to believe they were attempting to overcharge me. It is as simple as that. I will not be returning and plan to cancel my subscription soon.
