Interesting system for answering customers questions. They have a cue check in system, but it isn’t utilized properly so after 30 minutes of watching other customers walk in and get help after I arrived I finally asked someone else what was going on. Finally got connected with a rep - took under 1 minute to answer my question. Then when I was ready to make my purchase they weren’t able to facilitate that so I left and made my purchase online. This is the only store in Reno so it is still a good bet if you need to physically interact with the device to make sure it is a good fit. I would save yourself time and hassle though and make your final purchase elsewhere. I bought my prior device here back in 2018 or 19 and that was a hassle too. Interesting to note that this many years later the store is still managed poorly.

Service was about as bad as it gets. My appointment was at 1235. I showed up and checked in at 1145 because I was in the area anyways and, who knows, maybe I get lucky and there's a cancellation so I can get on with my day. 1235 comes and goes and no one acknowledges me. I decide to ask one of the red shirts to confirm that I got checked in. They said yes, but their technicians are backed up. No problem, I get it, but she offers to see if she could help without the assistance of a technician. Within 5 minutes, she runs a RF test and finds that there's a hardware failure in my phone. She explains the options and lets me know that a full restore and transfer of cellular service is going to be required. She assures me that transferring my service shouldn't be an issue as it's application based process for my carrier. I tell her that I can be back within an hour to drop the phone off for repair because I need to get my laptop with encrypted passwords and authenticators to get back into my accounts when the device wipe happens. She says as long as I'm back within an hour, the service will only take 90 minutes from then. I have her confirm this timeline with the technicians in the back. I even offer to come back another day if this isn't something that can be handled before the day ends. She assures me it'll be done within 90 minutes if I'm back within an hour. I get back within 45 minutes and go back to the same person who helped me. She now tells me that there were a ton of drop-offs since I left and now the service is going to take up until 1800. I held up my end of the deal, coming back into 45 minutes instead of an hour, and she is now refusing to hold up her end of the deal. I reluctantly agree, but while walking around the plaza for a few minutes, I return and decide to talk to a manager because the situation doesn't sit right with me. I talked to Tracey and she got me squared away, stating that my phone would be ready by 1600-1700. Still not what was agreed upon, but better than nothing. I decided to walk around the plaza in the meantime. When I returned, a technician hands me my phone and tells me I'm good to go. I try to log into my Apple account and I'm blocked by the authenticator. I foresaw this being an issue, so I created a recovery code before my appointment. The recovery code is valid and allows me to continue, but still requires a text message to the phone number on file (which is inactive because the IMEI has changed during the service). I ask the technician what the point of the recovery code was if it doesn't let me bypass authentication. He shrugs his shoulders and walks off. I spend the next 2.5 hours in the store online chatting with my carrier and Apple support trying to get access to either my Apple account or my eSIM loaded into this phone with the new IMEI. Getting access to my Apple account requires my phone number to be active and the official way for my phone number be activated is going through the App store and downloading the carrier application, which requires me to be signed into my Apple account. See the problem? Technician didn't care and just walked away. Never checked in on me again. The original person who tried to help me wasn't there anymore to get assistance from. The only two people who were helpful were Tracey, who got me my back phone in a timely manner (and actually within the originally agreed upon time, which is appreciated), and Sam, who was the only person who ever asked if I needed help and actually went out of his way to get me information I needed to get squared away. As for everyone else at this location, it is clear that they are going through the motions and the second anything that requires any amount of effort comes up, they are nowhere to be found and completely unhelpful. Garbage service.
