Verizon Wireless Review – A Frustrating Experience from Start to Finish
We broke a phone Saturday night and decided to switch from Google Fi to Verizon Wireless, hoping for better service. Unfortunately, the experience has been anything but smooth.
We purchased an iPhone 17 in-store and opened a new Verizon account. What should have been a straightforward setup turned into a two-hour ordeal. During the process, we accidentally cancelled all our lines on Google Fi — we only meant to transfer one phone. This mistake disrupted my Netflix account, which I used to pay for my sister, and that option is now gone.
I had to contact Google Fi to fix the cancellation issue, and it became clear they tried to upsell me by cancelling all my lines, assuming I wouldn’t notice. Thankfully, that’s resolved now.
However, my wife still can’t receive phone calls on her new Verizon line. I’ve tried calling Verizon support — they hung up on me. I attempted to use their chat support, but it’s completely non-functional. There seems to be no reliable way to get help from Verizon. My wife went directly to the store with the phone and they refused to help her. I asked for her to be on the account but that did not happen.
I’m beyond frustrated. Switching carriers should not be this painful. Verizon needs to seriously improve their customer support and onboarding process.
