I took a friend for a sick dog the people seem friendly as seen one of the workers outside with the dogs and they also have a pharmacy in the store expensive for pills but I guess that's what it cost I don't know

I brought my elderly diabetic cat in for a visit due to possible uti with blood in urine. Our cat was under stress, and the vet assumed our cat had cystitis or inflammation of the bladder. The urinalysis results were not available for at least a day or two. The vet did not treat for a uti. Two weeks later our cat is having a handful of issues and I decide to go to a local vet, where I received phenomenal care. Our cat received blood work, urinalysis, treatment IV fluids, all for half the price of what VCA was going to charge me for blood work alone (at least $1200). The urinalysis and blood work results were given within 30 minutes and our cat was positive for a uti. I believe we did not receive the correct care from vca and were charged an arm and a leg for basically no treatment. So, this is my PSA to go to local vets!

I’ve had great experiences with the vet techs and Dr Hopkins, who is a gem. But Dr DeHerrera is blustery, condescending, insensitive and unprofessional. If you have to euthanize your beloved, I recommend any vet but her. I wish I could have the last hour of her life back so I could pay the extra to do the procedure at home with someone capable of holding space for the wrenching pain of saying goodbye to my cherished friend. To add insult to injury she later gratuitously slandered me to other people. Grossly unprofessional. In fact I think she was just projecting onto me. I hope she finds a good therapist or gets into a line of work that doesn’t require any sensitivity to other people in their most vulnerable moment. If I had it to do over I’d have found another vet a long time ago but curiously she was usually the only one who had openings. I wonder why.

Dr. Hopkins is amazing, knowledgeable, and explained what was going on with my kitty in a way that made sense to me. All of the staff I've interacted with here have been wonderful too. Additionally, this clinic has appointments on Saturdays for established pets and this has been such a help because of my work schedule. I know veterinary care can be expensive, this clinic seems reasonably priced to me. I got Trupanion pet insurance as soon as I adopted my cats so I was able to get it at a low rate. Trupanion has been pretty great. I also have Pawp pet insurance for emergency visits, I haven't used it yet. Those are reimbursement plans, you just have to be sure to get an invoice from the vet appointment with which to submit your claim. I use a credit card for the upfront costs and use the reimbursement to pay the credit card bill.
