VCA Stoney Creek animal hospital should be ashamed of themselves. I always knew they were over priced, but now it's excessive. I have a pet that has epilepsy. He's dependent on his medication. Typically he has a phenobarbital blood test once or twice a year to ensure he's at a therapeutic level. It's not a vet visit. It's always been a pricey blood test. Today they asked me for $621. They didn't mention their price had gone up again when I made this appointment. Luckily before taking my pet they asked me a few questions and then asked if $621 was ok. I made it very clear it wasn't, and taking advantage of people with sick pets is shameful. A vet came out and asked if I'd like to talk privately in an exam room. I declined. I felt everyone should know what this office is doing. She shared that they don't set the prices. VCA does. It's a corporation. Frankly I don't care. They aren't doing anything different from other vets in the area. In fact I called another vet while waiting to speak with someone about the pricing. That saved me $400. If I want to drive a little further it would save me another $66 dollars. Again, I understand my pet needs are going to cost more, but not $621 for this test. Even a complete one with liver panel wasn't this expensive at the other two excellently rated vets 10 or 15 minutes from their location. I looked back at my other prior visits. In 3 years the price has doubled. VCA Stoney Creek animal hospital do better. Some people's pets are dependent on the medical care they need to live a decent quality of life. Don't take advantage of the love we have for our fur babies.

Dr. Reed was fantastic on making sure miso felt comfortable during his vet appointment! hes feeling so much better and eating regularly after getting some medicine! prices were reasonable for what I was getting but I can see where it could get pricey depending on what is it! I definitely recommend Dr. Reed if you go here, he will make sure your animal is comfortable and healthy!

I’m the owner of two dogs, and one of them is currently dying. I reached out for help and was told I couldn’t even get a free exam because it’s only offered for healthy animals. That policy feels heartless and misleading — if a pet is healthy, there’s no real need for an exam. Most people seek exams when something is wrong and they need help. I’m very disappointed with many organizations involved in animal care, including places like the SPCA. True care for animals should come from compassion, not profit. It’s upsetting that adopting or rescuing abused animals costs so much, and that some pets are euthanized simply because they aren’t adopted. Too many of these organizations seem more focused on money than on genuinely helping animals and the people who love them.
