I own approximately $500 worth of Apple stock. When I go to the store to make a purchase, I have experienced disrespect from both customers and employees. This is a reflection of the challenges faced by Black Americans.

Went into the Apple store 2 weeks ago to trade in one of my ipads on the new a16. The sales guy gave me a price and it was very good. He then asked me for my passcode which I did not have. He wouldnt do the deal without the passcode. I left. Went home and called Apple and they said I didn't need the passcode to do the deal. I wasnt going back so I purchased it on Amazon and sent my old ipad to a company that buys them. Not very trained folks!

Visited the Apple Store in South Park expecting the usual “premium experience”. The store manager greeted me warmly at the entrance with the standard corporate line about how they’re “here for us,” which was impressive because that was the last time anyone seemed remotely concerned with helping me.
The employees were deeply engaged in what appeared to be very important conversations with each other, while I stood there trying to trade in my old iPhone after buying a new one from the same store. A process that should have taken five minutes somehow turned into a 40-minute endurance test of patience.
For a company that prides itself on efficiency and customer experience, the lack of urgency was surprising. I didn’t come to socialize or admire the lighting design - I came to complete a simple transaction.
If you’re planning to trade in a device, bring snacks. And maybe a folding chair.

This was my first visit here so the lack of visual references of where to go and who to see made the visit a bit harder than necessary. Once I figured out who the employees actually were, I was able to begin getting my issue addressed. I will mention it may be better to acquire an appointment because, if you have to wait a while to get assistance, seating sucks. I'm not a kid so a chair instead of a wooden cube makes more sense. I never heard anyone comment on how cool the store looked as Noone seemed to care.
