I was looking to make a purchase regarding a new Sony camera however when I was going to ask an associate, they were grouped together and one person said something explicit about me. I was genuinely embarrassed that behavior came from a grown man’s mouth. I neglected my purchase and won’t return in the future.

Burlington is the Best Best Buy ever!! I was at the Durham location and they were so short staffed they couldn’t help me.. so I left. I felt like a rock star at the Burlington location. Naari the host, Will, and Anthony are rockstars!!! If you need a computer… ask for one of these guys.
I bought a 7.1.2 soundbar system through the app which includes the soundbar, two mini speakers, and a bass speaker. The app specifically states that the item is open-box fair.
When I drove 2.5 hours to pick it up, the employees only brought out the soundbar and remote. I asked where the rest of it was, and three employees tried to help but said the missing speakers and sub couldn’t be found. They told me I could either take what was there or cancel the order.
I explained I’d just driven 4+ hours round trip, burned gas, and lost most of my day, and asked if they could do anything about the false listing. They said they couldn’t.
The item itself even had a sticker claiming “light scratches only,” while failing to mention that most of the system was missing — turning what was supposed to be a full 7.1.2 setup into just a 2.0 soundbar. Blatantly false advertising and a complete waste of customer time. Photos attached.
The best buy website claims open box fair products are "in Fair condition operate as intended, but show more significant scratches, dents or chips". I'd love to know how BestBuy thinks a 5 speaker surround sound sound system is supposed to only include 1 speaker.
This is as the same as selling a 5-piece suit, losing the shirt, pants, etc., then giving the customer the jacket.

Ordered on line , received notice when ready for pickup, same day as order. Walked just inside the door and after showing the email with barcode the lady handed it to me, probably about 3 minutes in the building. Very quick and efficient

I’ve never written a review this scathing, but after five separate visits to the Burlington, NC Best Buy, I feel obligated to warn others. What started as a simple TV purchase turned into the worst retail experience of my life—complete with blatant lies from a manager, damaged merchandise due to reckless handling, broken promises between managers, and now a two-week wait for a mailed check refund. I’m out hundreds of dollars, have no tv, and lost all trust in this location. Went in to buy a new tv and Manager Jason pushed a TCL mini-LED, claiming: TCL is partnering with Sony—they use the exact same processors and technology. TCL is just as good as Sony. I reluctantly bought the TCL based on his “expert” advice. Later research proved every word was a lie. TCL and Sony share zero panel tech, processors, or partnership. TCL uses cheaper components and has known backlight issues. This was deliberate deception to move inventory. Returned the TCL (hassle-free, at least). I wanted the best tv which I originally came for. They had an open-box 85” Sony mini-LED—no original box or remote. Employees laid the $2,000+ TV flat on its back in my truck bed, balanced on a random box, with one thin layer of bubble wrap. I begged them not to lay it flat—everyone knows TVs must stay upright. They swore, “It’ll be fine.” It wasn’t. Got it home, powered on: multiple dead pixels/LEDs, backlight bleeding, and a visible pressure mark. Clearly damaged in transit due to their negligence. Returned with the damaged TV. Explained everything. Manager Anthony listened, apologized, and said: “This is unacceptable. We’ll swap it for a brand-new sealed unit at no extra cost.” • I lugged the 100+ lb TV back… only for manager Jason to override Anthony and refuse the swap. Then refused an immediate refund. Said I’d get a check mailed in 2 weeks. Two weeks without my $2,000+ because of their lies and incompetence. I Was planning to buy $10,000+ in appliances for a full home renovation. My wife and I are now taking our business anywhere but Best Buy. This behavior was predatory—lying to upsell, then hiding behind “policy” when called out. Never again. I’ll pay more at Costco, Walmart, or direct from Sony before stepping foot in this location. When did Best Buy become such a JOKE!
