I went and purchased a computer on Black Friday as our children's one combined gift from 'Santa,' to be a living room computer. It was an open-box. The 'reason for return' (I checked) was 'scuffed', and the employee selling it to us ensured everything was in the box (power cord, keyboard, mouse). I asked several times, not wanting to have to travel from Columbia back to Hattiesburg for this-and-that. We had no reason to believe anything was missing from the box. Come Christmas Eve, we discovered only the monitor/CPU was in the box - no power cord, keyboard, or mouse. The day after Christmas, I chatted 'Grace' from BestBuy.com and after going back and forth about it being a store issue, not a corporate issue, and me insisting I would not be boxing up the computer from 'Santa' to bring it to the store, I'd prefer Best Buy to mail me the missing items, she said I would be receiving an email from Best Buy to help me with this issue. That was several days ago. Today, I chatted BestBuy.com again, this time being told the chat associates cannot do anything remotely helpful, and that I must call a specific number. Fine. I called. I got someone with a very thick accent, and got transferred. Now to someone who has people screeching into phones behind her, and despite me explaining my issue, she asks twice if I want someone to come install my computer? I reiterated my problem (missing items from box), and she stated that it's a store issue. I must go to the store to get this issue resolved. This is three different people insisting I go to the store. Fine. When my husband took the kids to an appointment, I whisk the computer to the store. Tanya, the 'team lead' proceeds to tell me that it is NOT a store problem, as the computer was not returned to THIS store. Another store sent the computer to this store, making not a store problem? She tells me it's 'no one's responsibility,' and that my options are to 1) return the item and purchase a new computer at a $70 upcharge, or 2) keep the computer and purchase new products to complete the computer. Now, I did my research after leaving the store today. I understand I purchased an open-box computer in 'Good' condition, meaning it may or may not have all of the 'nonessential' parts inside the box. However, my issues with this Best Buy experience are as follows: 1) a 'Good' condition computer AT LEAST has all of the IMPORTANT parts in it. How is a power cord NOT an IMPORTANT part of a computer? Why did Tanya not offer to find me a power cord for a 'Good' condition computer purchased at her store? Oh. Right. Things sold at her store are NOT her responsibility or her problem. 2) How is a computer NO ONE'S responsibility, as Tanya claimed? Best Buy chat AND phone said this computer was the responsibility of the store. Tanya claims otherwise. Who is at fault for the power cord? 3) Why are the employees not informed to tell customers that computers in 'Good' condition NOT expected to have all of the parts inside? I was assured, when purchasing this product, that all of the parts were inside of the box, including the keyboard and mouse. I was NOT told it was sold in 'Good' condition until Tanya told me at the store today. Do employees not want to tell the customers to check what is in the box prior to leaving so they can be sure everything is there? Of course not, they want to make the sale, tell them everything is inside, and then act like it's the customer's fault that not everything is there. I have been a loyal Best Buy customer for years, but after the way both corporate AND the store (I am differentiating between the two because the chat and the phone people made sure I know they are VERY different and NO ONE is responsible for ANYTHING) treated me over this situation, I most certainly will buy my pricey electronics elsewhere. If I could return everything I've ever purchased from BestBuy I would.

I came in Wednesday evening. I did not have a good experience. The name on the man’s tag was Paul. He looked more invested in his phone than helping me. I miss the days you could speak to a person without them needing to check their cellular device.

Logan ensured I had the best experience possible when buying a new phone. He was quick, funny, and knowledgeable. Customer service was 10/10, and I paid less than I would’ve at ATT. Thank you Logan!

We stopped by to check on something but when we got to the front, the store was unfortunately out of power. The Best Buy team was there to tell us as soon as we approached the door. A really disturbed old man was upset and berated one of the staff. He pointed at her and said “you aren’t a manager” and she calmly corrected him and informed him that she was actually a supervisor. He then said something extremely derogatory. She calmly laughed and said “have a good day.” She handled this amazing and professionally. I applaud her ability to remain calm in a situation where a grown man has to throw a tantrum and disrespect an employee because he wasn’t happy. Unfortunately, he has deeper issues within himself, he has to make everyone else around him unhappy.
