  GO ANYWHERE ELSE! I scheduled a Geek Squad appointment through Apple solely because my MacBook Pro is still under the original manufacturer’s warranty and the symptoms initially suggested a possible hardware failure. The reboot behavior was intermittent, and the network-related trigger did not present itself until I opened the laptop at the Best Buy location, which reinforced my expectation that this would be treated as a warranty-level hardware or system issue requiring competent diagnostics. While the associate who assisted me, Jack, was polite, no meaningful troubleshooting was performed. After briefly stepping into the back to consult with a colleague, he returned and stated that “people from corporate are here and are saying the Mac has a virus.” This claim was made without examining kernel panic logs, network configuration, Keychain entries, or loaded system extensions, basic steps for diagnosing macOS reboot behavior. The conclusion was not only unsupported, but technically implausible given the symptoms. I later resolved the issue myself by identifying a corrupted Wi-Fi profile and duplicate Keychain entries tied to a specific SSID. ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE WAS NOT INVOLVED AT ANY POINT. For an Apple-scheduled appointment tied to a device under warranty, this level of technical rigor was unacceptable. The experience made it clear that Geek Squad is neither particularly knowledgeable nor especially efficient when issues extend beyond surface-level consumer problems. They may be able to reconnect a printer or reinstall an app, but anything requiring actual system understanding appears to be outside their comfort zone. It's sad to think apple allows these people to represent their products.

  I called in to mount a TV, and after answering a few questions about the setup, was quoted $129 with an installation date a few days out. On the day of installation, the tech calls me and informs me that since the mounting would be on wood and over a gas fireplace, that the service would cost an additional $200. This seemed like extremely shady behavior, so I would not do business with this company going forward.
