I upgraded my phone at this authorized retailer after being told my old phone had to be returned for the new one to be “free.” I asked the salesman multiple times to make sure everything was correct because I travel for work and cannot afford service issues. He assured me my plan was right and said, “Everything is good, I took care of you.”
A month and a half later, my bill was almost double $200. When I called Verizon, they confirmed that my phone was never returned, no trace of it in any of the warehouses, and that my plan was not what I was promised, and that I was double-charged (confirmed by a store rep as well on my second visit).
Verizon told me to go back to the store for a tracking number. When I did, the guy was rude and short, asked if my old phone was insured, and said “Verizon is handling it, I guess,” and “he’s usually pretty good, not sure what happened.” He disappeared for 10 minutes, came back with a tracking number, and Verizon confirmed it was created that same day—over a month and a half after my initial upgrade. Typically, this is a 3-5 day return process. Never a month and a half!!!
That tells me the phone was never returned, and they had no intention of returning it until I caught them. No apology. No explanation.
I’ve been a Verizon customer for 13+ years, and this is the worst experience I’ve ever had. Avoid this place. Go to a Verizon corporate store! They won't scam you and steal your returns!
