If advocating for an abused puppy makes me a problem, then this is not a place I will ever trust with my animals again.
I will NEVER bring another animal to this facility as long as Dr. Rachel Labby is practicing there!
I brought in a foster dog from an abuse case for a spay appointment, and instead of professionalism or compassion, I experienced rudeness, attitude, and disrespect simply for advocating for the dog in my care. At one point, I could hear Dr. Labby speaking negatively about me outside the room. When I addressed it, the attitude only continued.
No pet owner, foster, or adopter should ever be made to feel like an inconvenience for asking questions about an animal’s care. The experience was bad enough that I chose to pay out of pocket to have my other adopted puppy spayed elsewhere just to avoid returning to this clinic.
Compassion and professionalism should be the bare minimum in veterinary medicine. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

Today was our first visit here. I called them because my dog had just seen her previous vet for a foot problem, that quickly worsened. When I called her previous vet to let them know, they scheduled her for the following Monday. No antibiotics, nothing. I was worried. The same photos I sent to them, I also sent to my daughter who works in the veterinary field. She suggested that I not wait. Secondary infections can get serious quickly. On a suggestion from a coworker, I brought her to VCA. We left with everything my girl needs to get better! Including a double ear infection. Something that I feel should not have been missed by her previous vet. Animal care is expensive!!! But you are responsible for these beautiful creatures you bring home. I don't mind paying it for proper care! Thank you VCA. Being on your waiting list, I must say how impressed I was with the text messages of available appointments to help accomodate us! Harley🐾 thanks you too!

I can not say enough about my appreciation for Swartz Creek VCA. My cat suddenly stopped eating. I initially saw Dr Labby who was great. She did exams and testing and was very up front and honest about the possibilities of what was happening as well as the cost of the procedures. Unfortunately, we ended up finding out she had cancer. When I went back to put her down, we saw Dr Harris. She was phenomenal. She made me feel reassured that I was doing the right thing. She sat with us and explained things thoroughly and took her time. She treated Ellie so well, even after she was gone. I will never forget her kindness. Thank you!
