I've taken my maltese a couple of times since moving to michigan they always take good care of her and are mindful of her needs and discomfort, everyone is great but they can get pricy really quick

After two visits I can confidently say this place is not good. It’s been the same experience both times. You can show respect for their time and show up on time for your appointment but they will still leave you sitting alone waiting on them for an excessive amount of time multiple times during your visit. I waited at least 15 minutes for the vet to finely come in and then he spent all of two minutes with my pet during each visit. If each animal gets only two minutes of your attention, there is no excuse for the vet being fifteen minutes late for an appointment that was scheduled weeks ago and we showed up on time for. Besides that their prices are ridiculous! They wanted $150 for a blood test that my other vet does for $50 and the vaccines were 50-60 each when my other cats vet charges $30 each for the same vaccines. Even the price of the wellness exam is higher than my other vet. $50 vs $65 This place definitely does not help make medical care of your pet affordable, actually quite the contrary. Besides that the facilities and equipment are old and run down, the exam table itself has an impressive amount of rust all over its frame and the bench they leave you sitting on forever during each visit is even tore up. I could understand the higher prices if there was some sort of extra benefit, comfort or respect delivered but this place falls short everywhere. They actually lost my pets medical records that I had just gave to them on our first visit, resulting in the vet “forgetting” that my cat needed his final booster shot. If I wouldn’t have asked about it they simply wouldn’t have given it to him leaving him half boosted? What kind of care and attention to detail is that? Not the kind I want for my pets. This place overall seems very unorganized and unprofessional, it takes them 20 minutes to round up three shots that they know my cat is going to get that day. Do they store the vaccines across town? Why is nobody here seem prepared to take care of my pet during his visit? It was scheduled weeks ago so it’s not like it was a surprise we showed up wanting the shots out of the blue. Plus their automated system sends duplicate messages causing me to waste time collecting stool samples for no reason whatsoever. Plus the vet with florissant coloring in his hair not only looks unprofessional but he scares the animals by talking loud and moving too fast around them when he meets them and his animal handling skills definitely need improvement, he mishandled my cat enough to earn himself some scratches and almost dropped my cat at one point. My other vet handles my cats without upsetting them or getting themselves scratched. Overall a terrible experience (twice) for me and my cat. I would note that the receptionist seems out of place and doesn’t belong there as she is the only one that actually seems prepared and capable of doing her job well and in a timely manner. So five stars for the receptionist but one star for the rest of the place.

NEVER TAKE YOUR PETS TO VCA If I could give this place 0 stars, I would do it in a heartbeat. I took my boy to be seen in August 2025. I had noticed he was shifting like he was in pain and couldn’t lie down to get comfortable — he would constantly get up and move. He was seen by Dr. Schelb, who recommended X-rays. It was found he had bladder stones. They then put him on a Hill’s Science prescription diet for his bladder stones. He started eating it and immediately after my boy was vomiting uncontrollably day and night. He would try to drink water and couldn’t keep anything down. I called the vet to express my concerns. They had me book yet another appointment in October and made me pay for a whole new visit. That morning when he woke up, I noticed he had very slimy eye boogies. I expressed my concern to them about it. All they did was wipe it off, recommend we rerun X-rays, and do bloodwork. Afterwards, all they recommended was that he eat chicken and rice for his sensitive tummy and gave him an appetite stimulant. He did fine on chicken and rice. They then called me TWO DAYS later with his bloodwork and to ask how he was doing. My boy was lethargic. It all had him super weak. I told them he was doing fine. They said (only when I asked) that his bloodwork looked “pretty good.” Two weeks passed and I called them saying he was having what I thought was acid reflux. The lady on the phone was very rude and brushed it off. She said he should be back on the diet by then for his bladder stones when they gave me NO specific instructions when we last visited, and that he shouldn’t be on chicken and rice anymore. I started transitioning him back to the diet. He immediately started getting sick again. He was uncontrollably throwing up to the point where he would be on an empty stomach just throwing up bile. I called them to express my concern and all they said was that we could “try a different brand.” All this place cares about is your money, not your pet’s health. They had me bring him in twice and then tried to make me switch his diet brand. I gave up trying with them and took my boy to a different vet. This new vet had the VCA results sent over and she told me his bloodwork showed elevated WBCs, like THROUGH THE ROOF. They NEVER informed me of it, even when I asked. This new vet reran all tests and found me the cheapest ultrasound. She really did everything in her power to show me my pet mattered and, I quote: “There’s something wrong with this dog and I have to figure it out.” She called me later with the results for everything she ran my boy on. This doctor went in depth with the results. nothing like VCA ever did. She told me it wasn’t pancreatitis, but that my boy had terminal cancer and had days to weeks to live. I made the hardest decision of my life to put him down because he had only gotten worse since he was “checked” at VCA. My boy was suffering and all the vet gave a crap about was money. You can tell when someone does their job and really cares, and this place didn’t have that. NEVER TAKE YOUR PETS TO VCA.
