I can’t say enough good things about the supervisor, Sam, and Dr. Sidor. My dog Bella had her dental procedure today, and from start to finish they showed such incredible care, patience, and understanding—not just toward Bella, but toward me as a worried dog parent.
Special shout out to Sam - she was so gentle and reassuring, taking the time to explain everything in a way that immediately put me at ease. Dr. Sidor was just as kind and attentive, making sure Bella was comfortable and safe every step of the way. Their compassion and professionalism were obvious from the moment we walked in, and I never once felt rushed or left in the dark.
Bella is already recovering beautifully, and I truly believe it’s because she was in such good hands. It means the world to have a veterinary team that treats your pet like their own and understands how emotional these moments can be. I’m so grateful for the exceptional care they provided for both of us today.
Highly recommend!

PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!!!!! My dog was a senior but in great health with 0 issues. Took him a few times before for dental cleanings but this time was different. Never had we EVER been told that anesthesia was dangerous for senior dogs, with outcomes possibly including pneumonia. On Oct. 20th when I dropped him off, instead of being warned of this I was instead lectured about pill pockets and meds that costed $150 that he didn’t even need. My brother picked him up later on in the day. The next day he was not himself whatsoever but we thought it was just his gums bothering him and he was stubborn sometimes after being taken to the vet so we were just expecting it to ride out as normal. We had NO idea pneumonia was brewing. On Wednesday symptoms had progressed and it was even worse so we took him back to VCA, come to find out he had pneumonia. My mom was shocked, and was asking them when we ever gave consent to the knowledge of these outcomes. They had nothing to say because they knew we never did. Their guilt was obvious in their reactions, having the nerve to tell my mom “sometimes water can get in the lungs from the tubes” ….WHAT??!!!! And how’s that? By mishandling the procedure? The ballooning, the tubing? The water spraying for rinsing?? They demanded 5gs from my mom to hospitalize him, but obviously we didn’t have it so we went home and attempted breathing treatments the best we could. It wasn’t until the next day when the director finally called my mom and told her to bring him back and they’d cover all costs. Of course right? We took him back but it got even WORSE, he had to be taken to advanced care where he ultimately had a seizure and passed. Even the doc at advanced care was confused bc his records show great health, saying “there’s so much more to this.” This establishment is nothing but a corporate money pumping factory. Plz find small/local vets that actually care about your pets well being. Even if we should’ve known about the anesthesia, you trust your vet to be honest and tell you EVERYTHING, regardless if they think you know or not. It’s not your job to assume, it’s your DUTY TO INFORM. I wish my groomer would’ve told me beforehand the real reasons she quit vca and became a groomer instead. To management reading this: SAVE UR CRAP! DO NOT REPLY! YOU KILLED MY DOG! This review is to warn the people. You did enough yesterday when you shamelessly called my brother and I to ask for our signatures on the forms claiming you paid the bills. The same way you overrode to pay for the bills is the same way you should’ve overrode to getting the signatures. If they’re careless enough to not have formal real conversations with owners about dangerous things, then god only knows what happened in that room for him to get all that water in his lungs. We will never get over this, have closure, justice, nothing, just broken hearts and trauma. Plz plz plz do NOT bring your animals here. Have you noticed their brand new big building? All they care about is money. We lost our best friend, companion, and family member way ahead of his time for no good reason. BTW the pic below was taken 1 day before procedure. Does that look like a dog ready for death? They’re shameless, rude, work as a factory not a caring facility, greedy, careless, not knowledgeable, amongst soooo much more. Had we known we would’ve left their care a long time ago. I will never forget watching him suffer, barely breathing, and the smell of death oozing from him. I will forever be traumatized and hurt. I didn’t even get to say goodbye. All of this, just because they were too bothered to inform us that he was too old to be put under anesthesia for something that was not important for him to have. Do not risk it, and the other negative reviews are VERY telling as well.
This has happened over the past 3 days.
Our GSD Hawthorne is highly fearful of people, we were brand new patients as we had never had medical issues before. Not only did we get a coupon for a first visit for free (usual exam fee is $85, one of the cheapest in the area as we frantically called around), but we ran in to warn their lobby he is people reactive.
We were put in a safe room immediately so nobody got worked up or hurt, and our vet tech was incredibly knowledgeable and familiar with reactive dogs. I was having a full on panic attack as Ive never dealt with severe hot spots before but all the staff was very kind and reassuring. We did have to muzzle him but our vet and tech were so kind and patient with him despite there being an emergency patient in the building they were dealing with as well.
Despite some of the reviews here, they were incredibly understanding of our financial struggles and how thin we were spread. We will absolutely be doing their in house preventative care plan. Despite other claims, it is only 53$/mo, NOT 100$. It covers a blood test, all shots for the year, and any exam fees we may need over the year. Our boy got a months worth of meds and a cone for around 100$ this visit, and they did not upsell us on things we couldnt afford. Anyone saying otherwise did not read the care provided under their contract or is straight up lying.
I JUST called today to doublecheck what we could do for his care as he reacted very badly to the cone and theyve been nothing but kind and responsive. Hawthorne will be going to this vet for life unless we have to move out of state for some reason.
Please do not take your animals here.
We took my dog here because we thought she might have fleas. They treated her for them but never confirmed whether she actually had any. When I came in for this visit, they told me my dog had stage 4 dental decay and convinced me to sign up for a “care plan” to supposedly save money — which cost over $1,200 a year.
She was scheduled for a teeth cleaning, and I took a day off work for it. In the middle of the day, they called to tell me they couldn’t complete the cleaning because there was an emergency surgery, and they didn’t have enough time to do hers.
A few weeks later, I brought her back in because she was having diarrhea. While we were in the lobby, my dog was attacked by another dog — what appeared to be a pit bull mix. In my opinion, if they know a dog is not well-behaved or has issues with other dogs, they should immediately take that animal into a separate room. Luckily, my dog wasn’t injured, but it terrified her and made her very nervous about being in the clinic after that.
When I came back for the rescheduled teeth cleaning, I took another day off work. In the middle of the day, I got another call saying my dog had aspirated while under anesthesia — even though she had fasted for 12 hours, as they had recommended. They said they couldn’t complete the cleaning and sent her home with over $200 worth of medication “to prevent pneumonia.” She showed absolutely no signs of pneumonia; they said it was just a precaution (which even human doctors don’t do).
After two failed dental cleanings — the entire reason I had signed up for their care plan — I ended up canceling it because it was costing me more money than it was saving. I scheduled a dental cleaning for her at the Humane Society in Warren instead. She had her teeth cleaned there with no problems. She didn’t aspirate during anesthesia, and they didn’t need to extract any teeth — which is supposedly common for dogs with “stage 4 tooth decay.”
When I told them what this previous clinic had said, the Humane Society staff told me, “No, she doesn’t have stage 4 decay. We grade it on a scale from one to four, and she was a stage two — and one would be considered the best.”
I highly recommend not taking your dog here. They tried to scam me out of a lot of money. It cost me two days of work, unnecessary stress, anxiety and my dog getting attacked. Not to mention, the total cost at the Humane Society was only $300 — nowhere near the outrageous prices here.
